Going on about how books like Twilight hurt girls, or boys, sounds fine on the surface. But when you look at pop culture in its entirety you see that this kind of thing is happening on both sides(boys and girls). Part of the problem is in this country(US) we have a really mixed up sense of morality. Walking Dead can show really graphic violence, walking corpses, blood and guts...but you'll never see a woman's breasts on that show. Why? Because a topless woman is over the line goddammit! Think of the children! That's why I favor letting people access the material they want, and they make up their own minds about it. Girls who read Twilight may get a skewed idea of what boys and relationships are like, but that'll end soon enough.
There are far better books for boys.
