Wait what how did SK get planes above NK? I thought NK had AA batteries all over the place ready to gun down anyone that entered their airspace
Probably flying too high for the AA guns to reach them. Why the missiles didn't get them, I don't know.
Let's hope not, because those revolutions were mercilessly crushed.
Then it's 1989. Except replace communist with autocratic countries.
"Sir, there are no geographical locations indicating any AA defense of any type in North Korean territory."
Speaking of AA, there's this one guy who went around marking visible AA positions on Google Maps, the distribution is interesting. AA coverage of varying degrees (1.5km range to 8km range) in NK
Oh. I thought it was barbed wire, but that wouldn't make sense. There's too little of it.
Probably flying too high for the AA guns to reach them. Stop asking about how planes flew in. It clearly states they used balloons with timers and lightweight baskets. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] fucking ninjas how do they work?
Definition of overkill.
Russia has stronger air and ABM defense around Moscow. Strongest concentrated air defense in the world, in fact.
Arn't AA guns useless against jets because the jets are moving faster than the shells :v:
Yes. They have missile defenses of course, but rather limited quantities. Mostly helicopters and A-10's would be at risk.
Wouldn't they think the radios came from an advanced alien civilisation
Wait what how did SK get planes above NK? I thought NK had AA batteries all over the place ready to gun down anyone that entered their airspace
I imagine it being much like the Berlin Airdrops during the cold war, since these aren't armed military planes it would look bad on NK to fire upon them. NK wants a war with SK, but they certainly don't want to be the ones who start it by being the first to show aggression.
North Korea drops bombs, South korea drops food and radios. South Korea is friendly :unsmith:
What caused all this to start anyway?
Tunisia.
North Korea drops bombs, South korea drops food and radios. South Korea is friendly :unsmith:
No they just know how to put themselves in a good light, while making NK look bad.
A bullet to the chest causes a world war, while a angry man who committed suicide after being slapped by a policewoman causes revolutions and civil unrest the world over.
Wait what how did SK get planes above NK? I thought NK had AA batteries all over the place ready to gun down anyone that entered their airspace
Cloaked banshee harass duh even new SC2 players know that.
Yeah probably, but I don't think it's going to be as big as the European revolutions of the early to mid 1800s after the French Revolution and Napolean spreading around French ideas.
It's almost the same, seeing the position of the muslim people. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
A bullet to the chest causes a world war, while a angry man who committed suicide after being slapped by a policewoman causes revolutions and civil unrest the world over.
That was not the cause, that was just the occasion. The European countries were developing tensions since the German-French war in 1871. The Brits developed a love for Russia around 1900, Austria always had problems with Hungary and everyone was mad at Germany for developing a Republic without any succesful revolutions. And I think the industrial revolution just took everyone by surprise. People just didn't know what they were dealing with.
It's almost the same, seeing the position of the muslim people.
It will be the same, unless the governments that are around get permanently overthrown. Then it will have more of a impact than 1848.
Look at how many Governments Germany had from 1900 to 1950. 50 Years and there we have Monarchy, Weimarer Republic, Fascist, Republic + Socialist Party Dictatorship following the Prussian ruling. Gadaffi had his power for what? 40 Years? History does repeat itself. The only thing that changes are the actors.
A Tunisian setting himself on fire.
Imagine being that guy... THIS is what life is about. Make yourself a legend. Must have hurt, but now that he is dead, depending on your believe, he is in a better place. This guy will never die, his legend will live forever.
Let's hope this start a revolution in North Korea! Viva Revolucion!

North Korean citizens are too brainwashed to consider rising up and revolting. I doubt some food and information on other countries' revolts is going to do much. But props to SK for trying to help in a friendly manner.
For those wondering how they are dropping the leaflets, they are floating balloons over, its quite a good idea, the balloons run out of gas and drop or are shot down by the civilians and they go and collect whatever supplys are dropped.
