huh you've got a point i don't think i've ever claimed i was without contradictions [img_thumb]http://cdn.fpcontent.net/fp/emoot/smug.gif[/img_thumb]
you've implied it :smug:
M1911 is a beast. Screw the smaller 9mm round. That .45 round will make sure your dead.
:frog: This is why some people oppose private weapon ownership
cool, wasn't this posted already though
that's just stupid. a firearm is a deadly weapon, not a symbol for freedom. humanizing a gun is a bit of a strange concept.
I dunno, the gun served as our armed services primary side arm through our rise as a nation and continues to serve even today with special forces and US marines in spite of it not being chambered in a NATO approved caliber. The gun has 100 years of constant service. Not many firearms can make that claim. It is a special firearm to the United States, and Utah in particular. It has been at the hips of our officers for a century, protected our pilots and vehicle crews as a last resort, and served many of our special operations units well. The United States has a short history, we've gotta work with what we've got. :P
if one thinks about it the m1911 is the ak-47 of the western world, nearly all modern western countries use it in one way or another
Wait, Texas doesn't have an official gun?
This was posted quite some time ago.
That was in Kentucky where they declared the Kentucky Long Rifle to be the official state gun. I say the official state gun for California should be the Desert Eagle, if only because of Hollywood.
Love 1911s. Dependable, stylish, simple and a hell of a punch.
M1911 is a beast. Screw the smaller 9mm round. That .45 round will make sure your dead.
John Moses Browning was unhappy with the 1911, and made the 9mm Hi Power to fix it's defects :smug: That said;
I vote that the official state firearm of Alaska be the Mosin Nagant
A russian gun? for an american state? Really?
A russian gun? for an american state? Really?
Hey, Mosins are pretty awesome
Damnit, they had to pick the best pistol Oh well. A state firearm is pretty cool.
We would never have gained freedom if we didn't fight and take lives.
We didn't (Canada).
My JROTC Colonel from when I was in High School came from Utah, and our Sarges (halfway through High School one moved away and was replaced) and us would always find little ways to make fun of Utah just to tease him in a good-natured way (mostly because almost everything Colonel taught us about the Air Force and Aerospace Science was somehow connected to Utah). One time Sarge (I think it was New Sarge, but it could've been Old Sarge) went through a list of most of Utah's state Symbols. I wonder how my classmates are reacting to this news... Damn, now I'm beginning to miss High School again...
There is a bill in the AZ legislature that would make the Colt Single Action Army the state firearm. http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/50leg/1r/bills/sb1610s.htm
Hey, I want a state firearm! Since I live in Mississippi, I think it should be the good 'ole redneck shotgun (saw-off, of course).
Hey, I want a state firearm! Since I live in Mississippi, I think it should be the good 'ole redneck shotgun (saw-off, of course).
Proper red-necks know better than to saw off perfectly good shotguns.
that's just stupid. a firearm is a deadly weapon, not a symbol for freedom. humanizing a gun is a bit of a strange concept. if you rate me dumb i will shoot you!
Funny, countries can use swords and axes in their national symbols but modern weapons are verboten?
Awesome, The 1911 has always been a cool gun.
M1911 is a beast. Screw the smaller 9mm round. That .45 round will make sure your dead.
My dead what?
Proper red-necks know better than to saw off perfectly good shotguns.
Of course not. We only really saw them off as snake guns, but the saw-off is a lot more popular culture-wise.
Armed conflict never leads to democracy! Psst, shut the fuck up Libya, no one likes you, you're the smelly kid of the international community.
A russian gun? for an american state? Really?
You seem to forget the history of Alaska, my friend. Alaska was actually apart of the Russian Empire for about 100 Years. They sold it to the United States on fear of the British Empire(who recently won a war against the Russians) would attack through British Columbia, and take Russian Alaska with barley any fight. Alaska was sold to the United States for 7.2 Million($4.74 per/km). After doing so Russian, and American soldiers paraded in Sitka, and a formal giving of Alaska to the United States was completed. So... Yes. The Mosin Nagant would absolutley be a fitting State Firearm for Alaska.
We didn't (Canada).
So you publicly admit Canada is a wussy state :smug:
am I the only one who gets weirded out by the whole "gun culture"?
