Anti Pirate Lasers When did we enter the future?
Yaaargh, that why we be wearin them eye patches. Blockin' thar lasers out o me eyes
Yeah, good job; instead of fixing the poverty and the damaged coastline that caused piracy they try to do a short-term solution.
Just load them up with boxes full of flashbangs and paintball guns
Where is bad-reading when you need it. Has already been suggested and they transmit green light. They are meant for blocking UV-radiation generated when welding.
buy 2 high pass and 2 low pass filters with a little bit of science turn them into glasses that block the light transmitted by the laser! [editline]13th January 2011[/editline] in fact, i bet if you got red and blue filters and put them ontop of eachother and put them into a pair of glasses with the lenses put out, it would block the green light
The goggles/glasses have to be specially made to block the specific or range of wavelength of the laser. My 445nm goes right through my wielding mask
"Not to be used with laser welding or other laser applications" is a warning label on mine
"Not to be used with laser welding or other laser applications" is a warning label on mine
well it only makes sense that his 445nm laser goes through it, 445nm is about as far from ultraviolet light (which the mask is meant to block) as is visibly possible
"Its so easy a caveman can do it!" :science: Somalian pirates have another thing coming at them.
Set phasers to stun.
You can see normal light on a bright day. I agree with the laser beam in face while trying to navigate open oceans would make it harder. But what if BAE accidentally sold the device to a pirate.
how would that happen hallo we would lahk to beh purchaseeng your lasah technolagee oh yeah sure here you go ah ya thank you
Don't we have those mounted microwave emitter cannons in use? Why not just do that.

You better buy a simple band-stop filter for the green spectral range. Still, I'm sure the pirates won't be able to get some.
I came into this thread expecting a laser that would vaporize pirates. I'm disappointed.
Now we just need a laser cannon set to disintigrate pirates.
