I'm not taling about any explosions at chernobyl although my avatar could have given a wrong context. Basically the current sarcophagus that keeps the radiation shielded needs to be replaced and could be leaking radiation due to an aging structure that hasn't been replaced. Russia could have measured radiation levels above normal levels and wanted to make sure it wasn't an attack by bringing in its own military to investigate.
But why are they occupying Crimea? Chernobyl is north Ukraine. I'm sorry if I'm not understanding what you're saying. [editline]2nd March 2014[/editline] Wow double ninja'd.
the fuck are you talking about
I think he thinks that Russia think Ukraine nuked itself
Why is Russia investigating Chernobyl in Crimea? Crimea is more than 1000 kilometers away from Chernobyl Are you high or something?
Maybe they thought it was crimea that had been attacked. Once radiatoion leaks it goes everywheere and if it rains it concentrates in weird ways. It was just a theory anyways, now forget about it. Though I initially only wanted to remind people of the sarcophagus project that doesn't seem to have been funded and could somehow have influenced Putin.
Russia is today's Nazi Germany. The dumb fucks went from hating Nazism to replicating it in their own way now.
Russia invading a former soviet region, which is mostly inhabited by Russians, is totally the same as systematically killing millions of people. Totes.
He's worked it out guys. Someone get Putin on the phone.
Chernobyl was orchestrated by Russia in 1985 in order to legitimize Russia's future annexation of Ukraine. In the early 1980's RSFSR authorities secretly prepared a contingency plan for the inevitable collapse of the soviet union and it is now being put into action by ex-KGB officer Vladimir V. Putin. The rebuilding of the Soviet Union has only begun, comrades.
Dumb x 2 Antlerp Doctor Death921 Jesus Christ, can you guys be so stupid so as to vote him dumb? Not getting the 1984 reference? What he is saying is anything but dumb. He's making a reference to the brainwash in which people support war, when they shouldn't be supporting it. Please.
It's been a while since I read 1984, so of course I won't get the reference. Still, I'm sorry it concerns you so much.
Where do the gas masks come in
Officials confirm Facepunch involved.
Russia stared into the abyss that was Nazi Germany, and Nazi Germany must have stared back.
How is fascism or nazism even remotely related to the sovereignty of an entire nation being violated by Russia? Just curious as to why Russians keep blurting something about nazis and fascists in wholly unrelated matters. Getting the impression they don't even differentiate between the two... The irony strikes me as strange - modern Russia itself is supposedly statistically a hotspot for neonazism and ultranationalism (imperialism).
Russia's propaganda machine. It's a good way of making it sound like your cause is just, make it look like your enemy supports something that's almost universally recognized as evil. Same process and logic behind how they make gays out to be pedophile rapists.
Thank god we stopped Russia the last time they attempted to invade a smaller nation over shaky circumstances.

I assume they just like to throw the word "fascism" at anything they dislike.
Russia's propaganda machine.
It's been a while since I read 1984, so of course I won't get the reference.
Russia invading a former soviet region, which is mostly inhabited by Russians, is totally the same as systematically killing millions of people. Totes.
Which was a former Ukrainian region.
Imperialism does imply Nationalism though, at least to some extent.
Of course, but sometimes the definition of what a nation is extremely vague.
Which was a former Ukrainian region.
It was a former Russian region you mean? Given to the Ukraine in the 50s? That's beside the point though, I'm not defending Russia, I'm just saying it's stupid to compare Russia to the Nazis.
Just like how Israel throws anti-Semite at anything they dislike.
Or like how in this thread people call Russians Nazis despite the obvious differences.
Thank god we stopped Russia the last time they attempted to invade a smaller nation over shaky circumstances.
wait who did we invade last time
wait who did we invade last time
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Flag_of_Georgia.svg/800px-Flag_of_Georgia.svg.png[/t]
[t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/0f/Flag_of_Georgia.svg/800px-Flag_of_Georgia.svg.png[/t]
amazing how it's a completely different story here - russian army defended south ossetia, which was assaulted by georgia
Assaulted by Georgia? How can a country "assault" its own territory?
It was a former Russian region you mean? Given to the Ukraine in the 50s? That's beside the point though, I'm not defending Russia, I'm just saying it's stupid to compare Russia to the Nazis.
Why it's stupid? Everything can be compared if there are common points. For all we know, some people invaded other countries or took portions of land based on the pretext that national ethnic groups were under threat. Same argument used today.
Assaulted by Georgia? How can a country "assault" its own territory?
You know your own government decided that it was in fact Georgia's fault.
