This is such a shame. Fort Hood's reputation is permanently fucked now.
it was the reptilian jews all along
Waiting for it to either be a russian nationalist or another "radical muslim" HOW CAN WE MAKE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE GET STEAMED UP AGAIN?
The big Army is extremely different from what you see on Full Metal Jacket man. I would really think that this is due to extreme workplace stress due to how bullshit Fort Hood treats its Soldiers. Trust me, I have met a lot of people that have been there and still have current friends stationed there. They all hated it, and still hate it. Also, the Army has a pretty good mental health framework. Hell, I am even taking advantage of it myself and getting some help sorting out some issues I have been having. Thing is, you have to take that big first step in getting help, and that is very hard for a lot of people due to some stigmas that still exist regarding asking for help.
There's less stigma against it for the pogs, you mean. The infantry, they've still got that collective "power through it" mentality, which is screwing a lot of them over both physically and mentally.

It doesn't help mental health when you're now struggling with finances, PTSD (possibly now alcoholism too), and vain relationships. When these shootings happen, there is probably a string of issues not seen in the news headlines.

I wish people would realize it's not just them going out in sector or do the whole grunt "suck it up and deal with it" thing. This thing exists for all combat arms jobs.
Another shooting in the Hood?
The shooter was in Iraq for four months in 2011 and never saw combat, interestingly enough. To me it sounds like he had issues long before being deployed. http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/fort-hood-shooting/fort-hood-gunman-did-not-see-combat-iraq-tour-officials-n70691

The people around me are supportive of people that go to behavioral health or go to counseling like myself, and that's a good thing. I have definitely heard much the opposite from many infantry and other combat units though, and that needs to change.
It's pathetic how much of a dysfunctional shit show the U.S. military has become in the last 15 years. I mean what the fuck, man. Shooting up military bases, record number of suicides, etc. I almost signed up in 2007 after High School but after reading up on these horrible statistics I'm glad I didn't, and this was knowing full well I might've been sent off to Iraq/ Afghanistan.

From the U.S. Army facebook page
Today, III Corps and Fort Hood identified the three Soldiers killed in the April 2 shootings as ‪#‎USArmy‬ Sgt. 1st Class Daniel M. Ferguson, Staff Sgt. Carlos L. Rodriguez and Sgt. Timothy W. Owens: http://www.army.mil/article/123432. May they rest in peace.
