It was hypnodisc vs chaos 2, chaos 2 won in about 20 seconds then just turned on the house robots
I always loved when the house bots were attacked, hated the ref bot though.

you don't know hatred until you've had the refbot batter and flip over your bot because of the shitty physics in extreme destruction (and knocking you into obstacles potentially), all while on the way to countdown or penalise a house goddamn robot.

Why Dara O' Brien? Granted he's a nice dude and he's pretty funny, but the main reason Craig Charles worked was because he had that kind of charisma you thought was pretty cool, even during Red Dwarf. Oh well, least I hope the actual robot fighting remains unchanged or has been improved upon.

Tbh there are worse presenters. Dara O' Brien seems to be an alright choice.
Even though Craig would still knock it out the park and guarantee a shit ton more views.

Maybe Craig Charles'll come back if it takes off, according to wikipedia at least it looks like Angela Scanlon hasn't really done any big tv roles so maybe it's less intimidating for her to work with Dara.

she's probably gonna be the sideline host, old robot wars had one, can't remember her name, but she basically just interviewed contestants behind the scenes and stuff.
I want to see more fights against the house robots. That shit was great.

i'm not totally bothered by craig charles not appearing.. it is heartbreaking.. but at least there's jonathan pearce
Hopefully having Dara O'Briain as host means there will be more of a focus on the engineering side, they always have him hosting the sort of science-y shows.
Shame about no Craig Charles but it could get a lot lot worse than Dara O'Briain.

That new logo looks sweet as fuck. And Jonathan coming back is great news. Craig not coming back kinda sucks but it could be a Clarkson situation again since this could be considered the pilot season.
Dara doesn't strike me as someone with an appetite for destruction and mayhem, to the degree of Craig, unless this is allowing him to dip into an untouched part of him. I know Dara likes his video games but thats a different kettle of fish.
At most, he might be better than Mick Foley who hosted the American version, not like ive seen it or his own performance but everyone knows him. He"s doing the Glasgow Based Wrestling, i cant think of the name, Insane Championship Wrestling i think...?
Im getting into a tangent, the picking could be worse, its not a Chris Evans trying to fill the shoes of Clarkson. Who knows, like i said it might paint Dara in a different light we've not seen him with.

Doing a little digging it seems that they are making a new version! Robot Arena 3!
Next to that, Robot Arena 2 is freely available on various locations (I believe it's actually abandonware by now, but don't quote me on that).
So if you wanna scratch that robot-destruction itch, check out Robot Arena 2; It's got a great building mechanism that gives a LOT of freedom.[/del]
