Some of you are posting like he held down the kid and beat him until he was half dead, but all he really did was slap an annoyingly loud kid who he thought was older then he was. I doubt the kid is even still hurt after that. Until the media posts some sob story about the kid being traumatized for life.
I don't exactly think this is "What a psychopath! He should be institutionalized and never go in the public forever!!!" material.
This is facepunch, most of the posters here are so idealistic they'll go up in arms against the slightest bit of violence or haven't seen a person with real behavior problems.
Slapping a child for being annoying now equals abuse of the highest order!
Lachz0r the king of shitposts demands it!
Mush people! To the white-house with it!
lol so according to you slapping a kid ISN'T child abuse? dude, i think that's kind of the definition of it.... lol
I swear, "child abuse" has become such a buzzword it's lost its meaning. A stranger slapping a kid a single time does NOT constitute child abuse. Child abuse is repeated physical and/or emotional trauma to a child, usually by a parent or family member. It may not be the nicest thing to do, but the guy himself said he did it before he really realized what he was doing.
Personally though, I think more theaters should follow that Texas theater and start kicking people out the second they make any kind of disruption beyond getting up to take a piss. No cell phones, no talking or whispering at inappropriate times, no bullshit.
child abuse is abusing a child. slapping a child is abuse. seriously do you really hate people talking in your movies so much that you're willing to claim obvious child abuse isn't just that? and hey i agree that cunts that fuck around in movies should be kicked out, they shouldn't be physically assaulted though, especially not if they're children.

noone is saying that? gee whizz you're sure trying to blow shit out of proportion to justify random violence n a movie theatre.

Oh my god so much this.
People need to quit acting so high and mighty. Yeah we get it, you're the perfect human being with perfect ethics and morals who does everything right ever.
At first I thought he might've been overdoing it, but then

should've punched him harder
Child abuse is the continual abuse of a child. This was one slap. Very much not the definition of abuse.
Also, read upwards about the user eho commented that this person should be barred from the public.
I'd say reading one article on one man during one particular incident is NOT enough to judge his mental health.

Definition for child abuse:
Web definitions:
the physical or emotional or sexual mistreatment of children.
hmmm lets see, do you define hitting someone as physical mistreatment? cause i do... and i think 10 years old is a child too... yeah sounds like child abuse to me. and yeah i agree it's not enough to judge his mental health but this asshole def. deserves to get in trouble, violence is NOT ok and it's especially not ok against children
Why were 10 year old kids going to see titanic?
Maybe too much candy? I wouldn't trust the teeth of these kids today.
Judging by your post quality you're probably not more than six years older. You are kids these days.
I live right between those two cities.
I'm surprised the guy's from Auburn, the people here are mostly stoners, polite Asians, and friendly Hispanics.
Kent is where all the scary people are.
Could he not have told the staff and have them removed? If not, what kind of theater is that? Was there no other solution than assaulting a minor?
I blame the dad for bringing the little bastard to a movie theater, though slapping the kid was a bit extreme.
Also, his tooth was probably loose because he's a fucking kid, they tend to lose them rather easily.
