That was a laugh.
or when it didn't ban slavery?
that was pretty good too
oh also don't forget all that protection it gave the japanese americans in world war 2
Not matter what your opinion is on guns in America, I think something needs to happen. Either tougher background checks, increasing prices or bans on certain firearms.

Yeah and suffrage.
Except if you're black or a women.
..THAT's what the 'right to bear arms' means?

...I've really been misinterpreting this...
I'm going to a gun show in Arizona (one of the states with almost no gun restrictions) and I'll share what spikes I see in the firearms thread later. I personally don't think he'll bring back the ban.
Hmmm, a semi-auto AK74 from Bulgaria sounds enticing right now.
They're selling for about $600 straight here in California. That's including a synthetic furniture set, a 30-round bakelite magazine and a flash suppressor.
Gunpunch is pretty quick to attack people who dare to criticize them.
I don't really care if people criticize me and I'm sure lots of other Gunpunchers don't either. What I resent is when people tell me my .22 target rifle should be banned because it will only cause death and chaos.
I remember when we banned guns in Chicago. Wow, that really reduced cri-

I'm gonna reiterate this point.
Murder, no matter how its executed, is a societal problem and not a weapon problem. Yes, getting rid of guns has a high likelihood of curbing gun violence. But why are people driven to murder? There is nothing inherent of a firearm that drives people to murderous tendencies. If someone picks up a gun to kill someone chances are there's something wrong with their head and not the gun.
Figure out what drives people to murder. Detroits pisspoor living conditions. Lack of proper education on firearms. Mental instability. If you fix these things, life as a whole will be better and there will be less murder overall.

Most homicide is not pre-meditated. People use what they have on hand.
Fun fact: More gun owners kill themselves or family members than other people.

I never said anything about premeditated murder. Picking up a gun to kill someone does not mean premeditation. It could just as easily mean defense.

I wholeheartedly agree that murder is not a question about weapons, but rather the way the society is built up. I will say though, that I believe that guns aren't helping that situation in any way, even though there's a sunshine history here and there.

I'm talking homicide. Most murder is not planned heavily in advance where ~people would just get the guns anyway~
Most homicide is a crime of passion and emotion. Not finance and strategic planning.

Oh there isn't. Guns have made it easier to harm one another, no question about that. But looking at Switzerland versus America, who we both already know have lax gun laws, death rates in Switzerland are lower on a percentage basis. Is it, perhaps, that due to Switzerlands fundamental differences in contrast to the US that they are happier than we are and similarly less prone to shoot one another?
Where do I sign up for Sobotnik's socialist wonderland where nobody kills anybody and everyone loves each other? Cause that sounds really enticing right now.

Sounds like Denmark. Sure, we have a shit party or two, but that's all part of democracy and there's other to vote for anyway.

Um, the US has 314 million people, Sweden has 9.5 million people, of course a country with a vast population will have much more crime than one that has less people than entire cities here.

Pretty sure the sale/trade of firearms was almost entirely deregulated by Hitler, actually. Look up the 1938 German Weapons Act. The only thing you needed a permit for was handguns.

There's a difference between overall crime and crime rates. The murder rate in the US is more than 4 times that of Denmark. It's a social issue.

I'm not an American, and I'd say a lot of people in this thread are not either.
History shows that countries and other governments where the peoples weapons were taken away the people were basically slaughtered because they were unable to fight back. This is what I believe is motivating people to buy more weapons in the chance guns will begin being taken away.
EDIT:
here's a video of the history of it.

also the video is fucking hilarious
it practically compares gun control to the holocaust lmao

The more I see of these shitty videos and arguments made in favour of guns, the more inclined I am to believe that gun control actually works, and that people who oppose it tend to be paranoid loonies.

Yeah, we need some guns! Then, when the government's highly trained army come to destroy us with their APCs, tanks, helicopters, fighter jets, drones and strategic bombers, we'll be ready to fight back!
