I highly doubt that the US has pulled its head out of its ass long enough to accept help from other countries. One thing that we Americans value over all else is our "independence" from other countries.

Accually, it's not. The fault lies with those that were on the ship at the time and/or the mechanics that were in charge of elecrical maintenence. Assuming that was the cause of the explosion.

Which was an American company... BP are just the financiers that ultimately own the production, but not the means.

But the fact it's not an American company makes it a "Not our fault" situation. BP is owned by the brits, they do own the production but that also does not make the means our fault either.
