Your friends are just dumb, i've been using iphones for 4 years and not once has the screen cracked (anyone heard of a case?) and out of about 8 other of my close friends who have iphones only one of them cracked their screen and that was about a year ago.
You drop any phone face down and the screen is likely to crack, don't act like it's the phones fault when it's the users.

The apple logo was changed to Aqua look in 2000, and there hasn't been a beige CRT since the PowerMac G3 was first shown. Those CRTs actually looked a lot like the iMacs of that time which is kind of cool and I'd get one if thye didn't use that absured ADB thing or whatever.
And Thunderbolt does make my life easier, wouldn't be able to have a second monitor without it

I've had personal experience of a beige CRT and a G3 CRT breaking. As well as a G3 CPU and probably 3-4 Mac laptops in that same time.
The biggest gripe with the laptops are thermal issues as well as the screws etc going missing or getting torn to shit while changing the RAM (because apple insists on using the smallest possible screws).

It's pretty clear that with the unibody design apple really doesn't want you in there. Hence why now they SOLDER THE RAM TO THE MOTHERBOARD.

Yeah that's when I copied a family friend's music to an ipod for him and he bought me an ipod as a gift (no fucking way my family could afford something like that in those days); and guess what the headphone port eventually broke and Apple couldn't fix it.
I've also had to help family/friends on a constant basis with their laptops/phones that have the most rudimentary issues that could be resolves with the easiest solutions if it weren't for the fact they are macs.
I'm not going to tell a friend to fuck off if he asks for help with something either, So its just continued bad experiences.

There were MacBook Pros before the unibody models.
The unibody is also stupid, I've seen a couple of friends who had them that have had physical damage (from dropping or whateveR) and the entire thing just ends up looking deformed and retarded. You pretty much have to replace most of the laptop because of some little dent (which costs a fuckton because its unibody)

It might surprise you to know, but a lot of people buy products to actually use them; there are a lot of us out there who don't just keep our fancy shit in the house under some protective rubber cover and watch it become slowly outdated.
