Bullshit. When I was a kid I went to the service store with my parents and they never replaced that beige beast of a CRT monitor. They quoted to fix it which would've cost similar to what it would for a new one. Fuck the logic board bullshit excuse.
We aren't talking about when you were a kid, past experiences don't matter if they've changed the state of what you're talking about. What the fuck do you expect from Sculley/Spindler/Amelio.
how long ago was this?
A while ago, when the apple logo used to be a gay pride symbol. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline]
We aren't talking about when you were a kid, past experiences don't matter if they've changed the state of what you're talking about.
Because logic board is Apple's go to reason for anything failing from a steam engine locomotive to a spaceship. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] fuck you i'm not that old ok.
well maybe because the device is 99% a logic board? this is basically 99% of an iphone
A while ago, when the apple logo used to be a gay pride symbol. [editline]4th September 2013[/editline] Its not a past experience if they still use the "logic board" bullshit reasoning everywhere till today.
well then that isn't relevant. pretty much everyone fucked you over like that then, consumer convenience wasn't an important aspect to any company

also god damn logic board is not a marketing term, it's meant for laymans. means anything that has to do with the continuing operation of the device hardware SORRY COMPUTER ILLITERATE MOTHER THE ARM SYSTEM ON A CHIP IS MALFUNCTIONING, IT IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH POWER 'what?'
Ask anyone with an iphone and they'll tell you the same thing. Except you. So if you go outside with your iphone instead of staying inside with your iphone in a pound of bubblewrap, you'll pretty likely have a cracked screen from dropping it a few inches off the ground. [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline] But if fanboys decide to not believe me, http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/quarter-of-iphones-have-a-broken-screen-says-new-poll-50010370/
Your friends are just dumb, i've been using iphones for 4 years and not once has the screen cracked (anyone heard of a case?) and out of about 8 other of my close friends who have iphones only one of them cracked their screen and that was about a year ago. You drop any phone face down and the screen is likely to crack, don't act like it's the phones fault when it's the users.
fuck you i'm not that old ok.
well apparently you fucking are

Those CRTs actually looked a lot like the iMacs of that time which is kind of cool and I'd get one if thye didn't use that absured ADB thing or whatever. And Thunderbolt does make my life easier, wouldn't be able to have a second monitor without it [editline]3rd September 2013[/editline]
Your friends are just dumb, i've been using iphones for 4 years and not once has the screen cracked (anyone heard of a case?) and out of about 8 other of my close friends who have iphones only one of them cracked their screen and that was about a year ago. I've carried around an iPod touch 4g since about 2011 right after the white model came out. Sure, there's scratches on the back metal, but I even dropped the thing on it's screen on a sidewalk from about 4 feet, no screen cracks

As well as a G3 CPU and probably 3-4 Mac laptops in that same time. The biggest gripe with the laptops are thermal issues as well as the screws etc going missing or getting torn to shit while changing the RAM (because apple insists on using the smallest possible screws).

Hence why now they SOLDER THE RAM TO THE MOTHERBOARD.
who's fucking bright idea was it to give the iphone 4/4s a fucking glass back though. that's just asking for trouble.
yet nobody has an issue with nexus 4 having a glass back?
As you can see, both phones can't withstand a truck. So obvious ripoff.
who's fucking bright idea was it to give the iphone 4/4s a fucking glass back though. that's just asking for trouble.
The main idea is that if you drop your phone all the time you really shouldn't have a phone in the first place

he is literally breaking them on purpose, how is that supposed to show that apple is so horrible
okay we get it you had issues with apple back in the 90s but did you know when the new CEO, some steve jobs guy, came to apple, he re-built the entire fucking company? it's a bit obscure info i know
Yeah that's when I copied a family friend's music to an ipod for him and he bought me an ipod as a gift (no fucking way my family could afford something like that in those days); and guess what the headphone port eventually broke and Apple couldn't fix it. I've also had to help family/friends on a constant basis with their laptops/phones that have the most rudimentary issues that could be resolves with the easiest solutions if it weren't for the fact they are macs. I'm not going to tell a friend to fuck off if he asks for help with something either, So its just continued bad experiences.
yet nobody has an issue with nexus 4 having a glass back?
i do, i'm not picking on apple specifically, this whole thing is dumb.
It's pretty clear that with the unibody design apple really doesn't want you in there. Hence why now they SOLDER THE RAM TO THE MOTHERBOARD.
There were MacBook Pros before the unibody models. The unibody is also stupid, I've seen a couple of friends who had them that have had physical damage (from dropping or whateveR) and the entire thing just ends up looking deformed and retarded. You pretty much have to replace most of the laptop because of some little dent (which costs a fuckton because its unibody) [editline]4th September 2013[/editline]
yet nobody has an issue with nexus 4 having a glass back?
Keep in mind there are also some 'durable' android models for people with an active lifestyle. Nothing like that exists for the iphone crowd.

in the drop test the phones were even dropped at a different angle. a single test from a single company like cnet is not representative of quality as a whole. toughness is not everything by the way, lol

It might surprise you to know, but a lot of people buy products to actually use them; there are a lot of us out there who don't just keep our fancy shit in the house under some protective rubber cover and watch it become slowly outdated.
that's also comparing the iphone 5 to an s4 which is an unfair comparison. the s4 released more than half a year later

i don't use a case on any of my touchscreen devices and i am on foot around town for at least 4 hours every day. i haven't managed to damage a single one of the devices

Apple doesn't do niche products because they try to be the niche product--like how they remove shit like contact management of a SIM card!
