Exactly, its always been a shitty phone.
Not shitty anymore in my opinion, just a bit behind the times, but there are certain aspects of iOS that are better than Android. Just as there are aspects of Android that are better than iOS, and aspects of Windows Phone that are better than iOS or Android. There are reasons iOS is suited more to me more than Android. Different phones suit different people, that's why there's a choice available in the first place
i need apps for plenty of shit that seems like it should be standard on android too buddy
Funny, I don't. I've owned an android device of some form for the past two and a half years.
Phones can break all the time, especially if the owner is not careful with their phone. If it broke in another country where mobile internet is expensive, you'd want your contacts on your SIM so you can buy a cheap phone and import them. (Yes, I said I don't do regular backups to the SIM, but at least I'd have something).
and what if your phone was stolen or you didn't back up your sim
if you shove in billions of features you'll just have a bloated os
Yeah its not like accessing the SIM card is important or anything...
Why should I have to fiddle about with pieces of paper? The SIM card is the best means of backing up contacts other than online / csv format.
Because if im not careful with my simcard it'll break :downs:

Nothing about windows phone is better than anything in Android OR iOS.
The only thing I can imagine that's better about iOS is the stability, but a phone's stability is what you make it. If you install a crapton of shit like custom launchers and lockscreens then your device is going to slow down.
Exactly, its always been a shitty phone.
you've always been a shitty poster
"i have an unreasonable hate for apple and i can't back up why!"

Water damage is actually something that can happen very easily (dropping it in the toilet/rain and extreme weather damage etc). SIM card never fails in this situation. And it almost never fails from being dropped either.
Not if they are also backed up online. (No, I'm not backpedalling here.)
you just said they didn't have mobile internet
Funny, I don't. I've owned an android device of some form for the past two and a half years.
There are no decent music production apps on Android, and that's one of the major reasons i use iDevices.
Yeah its not like accessing the SIM card is important or anything...
no
no it's not
countries that apple focuses on all have internet
aka everythis is backed up to the cloud

"i have an unreasonable hate for apple and i can't back up why!"
I'd appreciate if you didn't resort to personal attacks against me thanks.
I see that you're still having a hard time explaining why the iPhone lacks a feature to backup contacts to a file or the SIM card. You know, the "I can't back up why" reason everyone has been discussing for 3 pages now?
Water damage is actually something that can happen very easily (dropping it in the toilet/rain and extreme weather damage etc). SIM card never fails in this situation. And it almost never fails from being dropped either.
don't know what that has to do with a phone being stolen or not backed up but okay
you just said they didn't have mobile internet
Often time you can find a computer that has landline internet access (ADSL/dial up) in places that don't have great phone reception.
There are also situations where a particular teclo may have no coverage in a certain area.
you just said they didn't have mobile internet
"iCloud is down and I can't get my contacts"
Unfortunately, it works both ways. While this post may be backpedalling, you can do things that mean that your contacts are irretrievable.
It's like formatting C:\. You won't get your documents back, and that was your fault for not being careful with the command line.
I actually doubt someone would be stupid enough to break their phone and SIM card at once unless they drop it into a volcano.

IPHONES DON'T BACKUP TO FILE OR TO SIM BECAUSE APPLE FOCUSES ON COUNTRIES WITH INTERNET WHERE SHIT CAN BE BACKED UP TO THE CLOUD, MAKING THE SIM BACKUP FEATURE REDUNDANT IN THE MARKETS APPLE FOCUSES ON
IF YOU LIVE IN A PLACE WITHOUT INTERNET, DON'T BUY AN IPHONE
I just want mavericks apple is that too much to ask
no
no it's not

So you access 3G/HSDPA/4G and place phone calls without a SIM card then?

then go online to icloud or gmail and access your contacts
all these ridiculous hypotheticals are getting tiring
There are no decent music production apps on Android, and that's one of the major reasons i use iDevices.
I'm no musician, and everything else I would do on a phone is covered by the Play store. But, fair play to you if you need such apps.
So you access 3G/HSDPA/4G and place phone calls without a SIM card then?
how is this related to backing up contacts to sim
don't know what that has to do with a phone being stolen or not backed up but okay
I'm just pointing out that there are many situations in which a phone can become damaged and the SIM card will still work perfectly fine; yes phones get stolen and you lose the SIM card too. But as I keep my phone on my person at all times, I've never actually had a phone stolen.

android doesn't even have a decent video playing app. that garbage you can call the gallery is terrible for both photos and videos

Install VLC?
The built-in media player does fine for what I want.

I don't think there is any need to shout over the internet regarding this issue.
iPhone don't backup to the SIM card (or more importantly to a file, so you can store the data on the microSD card at all times) because they are designed for idiots who have no need of an actual file manager on a mobile phone.

It can play MPEG files the last time I checked; the iPhone cannot even play an MPEG file that comes in an attachment.

Another huge problem for me was the fact that android versions of apps always had delayed releases compared to their iPhone counterparts. Also, some of the exclusives, like Mailbox, were too hard to pass up on.
Developers still target iOS first because even with the growing Android market share, the app profits on iPhone have remained at 75% of the market sales despite being 25% of devices.

holier than thou
also lmfao what iphones play any h.264 video, including mp4
iPhone 6, with a slightly bigger scren and a slightly better processor with a shinier new OS

ok cool but you're still going on about highly unlikely events and the lack of a tiny and mostly outdated feature that practically nobody uses and calling a phone shit because of that
like yeah we get it you don't like the iphone but your reasoning for it is stupid and tiring
