I think i'll just buy the HTC ONE instead of the Galaxy S3S
Display is still pentile, so it's not technically 1080p :(
AMOLED isn't a genuine OLED screen either.
Wouldn't ~440ppi be enough to completely hide any faults from that unless viewed by a microscope or something?
In fact, what are the major downsides of pentile displays?

Well, the resolution is 1080p, but some stuff will look like it's at a lower resolution. You could argue that the fact that there's fewer subpixels constitutes saying it's not 1080p, but the GPU itself will be pushing frames at that resolution.

Text and such will be rendered at a lower resolution, as there's only 2 subpixels per pixel:

This means that two pixels will have to share one of the subpixels, making text and such more fuzzy. It should be almost unnoticeable at 1080p, though - even when we account for the pentile arrangement, it'll look like ~300PPI or that alike.
I hope they wait a while before releasing the Note 3...
I just got my Note 2 last November and now gotta wait 2 years for an upgrade. The new US Note should have the octa-core chip just like the US Note 2 had it's quad-core.
The display is fucking sexy though
I think I'm gonna' wait for the Note 3 so I can utilize pressure sensitivity for my drawings. I doubt the S4 will have that feature.
i hope the battery can last at least a day
Ever since my Galaxy Nexus died in December I've been waiting for a phone worth a two year contract...after several months of an old BlackBerry, I think this is it.
Wish they had removed the button and go for on-screen soft keys like my Galaxy Nexus
An octa core processor?
Nothing is going to utilize that for years. Modern software on phones barely utilize four cores. It's overkill. It's purely so they can put a bigger number on it and make it sound better.
I bet if you put the quad core one next to the octa core one you won't notice a bit of difference.
Also why is there next to no bezel? That's not going to be comfortable to hold. I guess you already can't use it one hand anyway. It's five inches. I can only just use my 4.5" phone in one hand and it's not comfortable.

It's not really an octa-core - there's four A15 cores running at ~1.2GHz as well as four A7 at 1.7GHz (or thereabouts). The A15s are going to do the heavy duty work, and the A7s will be sitting around when battery life is a concern. This is pretty much why the performance difference between the Snapdragon 600 version and the Exynos 5 version probably won't be that noticable - though the Exynos 5 will definitely win out in games.
My dick is still bigger than it. I'll buy it.

You're gonna have no problem holding the phone then
Your right hands had more than enough practice
Both of those phones designs are quite visually uncomfortable. With those stupidly wide screens and awful curve of their corners. I'm not even going to comment on the UI, but overall they look extremely cheap.
I really wish they had kept the aesthetic of S2, even with the legal bullshit involved.

they wouldn't have any legal trouble if they just got rid of the stupid button in the middle
they could just do something like this

This is exactly why I'm sticking with my S2, I can't live without my 4 keys on the bottom, and the phone is smaller.
Pentile screens have a blue tint
Pentile screens have a blue tint
Ehh, I think it's a problem with pentile AMOLED rather than pentile in general. If I remember correctly, it's something to do with the life span of subpixels - they have to tone some of them down, the blue tint being the result. I may be utterly wrong, though, it could just be that Samsung's calibration skills are at zero.

No that has nothing to do with pentile. It's a characteristic with AMOLED diskplay
