I don't see the point in rewarding a bunch of people copying what's popular. That Zelda thing up above, hasn't everyone heard enough of Zelda? Hasn't that acapella gimmick been done to death? There's nothing of value on YouTube.

[/QUOTE] About the only artists where this is a common or prominent occurrence is pop artists who cannot sing and its a pain in the ass to do in the studio or even on your own so it really isn't as common as people seem to think.

What's the point in this if you aren't going to promote artists who make content for your website?

I think they tried too hard to get the awards into the mainstream, didn't really promote YouTube in any way and the show itself was pretty substandard.
