Mexico issues travel alert in response to new Arizona immigration law

To add to this discussion i think this law was also passed due to the war on drugs in Mexico and how it is quickly spilling in to U.S soil.
I'm probably being naïve here, but I had an idea.
Why not just give cash money to people who narc on illegal immigrants? I mean, have a system so that people couldn't abuse it to fuck with people, but I think it would be a lot more efficient than telling a bunch of cops to demand ID from every "suspected illegal" person.
Could probably do it with people who're scamming welfare too.
I'd just like to say fuck Arizona.

Yeah that's a factor.

That's likely, but I doubt this law helps.
This law only gives state law enforcement the same powers that federal officers have had since always.

Mmm. That's right. In addition to what I said above, they really need to crack down on these huge companies that are employing illegal immigrants, not the immigrants themselves. Once the jobs are gone, America becomes less of a refuge.

Well i'm sure it can help is used properly. You find an illegal immigrant who is evolved in drugs, use this new law to put pressure on him on giving up info and instead of putting him in jail you can give him a second chance as a confidential source for the police. Use one guy to get several others. But that is if a investigation is done properly.
I don't get all the fuss over this law. All it does is crack down on illegal immigration, something that is supposed to be a federal crime anyway. The feds certainly aren't doing anything about it though, so the state had to step in. As I understand it, under the law you would have to already have detained the person in the first place, you can't just pull over any random guy and demand proof of citizenship. If somebody is speeding, or is found to have illegal drugs on them and they can't prove their citizenship, then that would be reasonable under the law. Simply being a Latino is not grounds for checking citizenship. This is simply a case of a state stepping up and making it easier to enforce federal laws, and then the media distorts it to make it look like a racist, Hispanic-hating piece of shit. Politicians are willing to accept this to get the Hispanic vote, because lets face it, a New York senator does not give two shits about an immigrant in Arizona. This is just more partisan bickering over something that needed to be done finally being done.

This is what Eisenhower did in the 50s, and it worked excellently. When they came over here illegally to get more money and found that employers didn't want to hire them, they left. The more effective laws deal with illegals once they are here rather than try to stop them at the border.
I have no problem with this.
