Man made god, not the other way around. Religion is stupid and believes in some scifi book.
Key word is "fi"
Pacifism is ridiculous, what would you do if someone was trying to kill you? There ARE some situations in which violence in necessary. /rant
Self defense is another matter. I just wouldn't take part in wars.
Self defense is another matter. I just wouldn't take part in wars.
Fair enough.
Key word is "fi"
That's not a word.
I'm probably stupid, but I seriously thought they had meant the router Hawking.
I'm really not amused how bible pushers can continue to overlook the facts. And the facts are, there is more proof that god is fake than real.
There is no proof either way.
That's not a word.
No shit, thanks. Fi is short for fiction, which is the key word in relation to the bible. Why did I have to explain myself...
Fi is short for fiction, which is the key word in relation to the bible. Why did I have to explain myself...
No shit, thanks.
There is no proof either way.
There doesn't have to be proof that god doesn't exist, only that he does, and there is none. [editline]08:03PM[/editline]
No shit, thanks.
That's it, we're going to war.
Key word is "fi"
Yes and that's the problem. It's kinda like fangirls believing about what says in twilight book. Except religion for some reasons is more acceptable even though it's the same principle.
There doesn't have to be proof that god doesn't exist, only that he does, and there is none.
I agree, but without proof you can't definitively say it doesn't exist. That's it, we're going to war.
Even if god exists, he is not the way religious describe him. He doesn't seem to help all these people in need. If he's such an almighty entity, why can't he stop us from sinning? Fuck you god.
I agree, but without proof you can't definitively say it doesn't exist. That's it, we're going to war.
No, I can't, but I can reasonably assume so, just as I do with Santa and the Tooth Fairy. [editline]08:12PM[/editline]
Even if god exists, he is not the way religious describe him. He doesn't seem to help all these people in need.
He's in a fucking chair. How the fuck do you know his brain is working right.
Yeah but I'm sitting on the floor, does this mean I am dust and hair and other such stuff that lurks on the floors of the world?
I agree, but without proof you can't definitively say it doesn't exist. That's it, we're going to war.
Without proof you should assume he does not exist. Science works like this and look what science has done for you. The method I am communicating through was perfected this way.
No, I can't, but I can reasonably assume so, just as I do with Santa and the Tooth Fairy.
Exactly.
Without proof you should assume he does not exist. Science works like this and look what science has done for you. The method I am communicating through was perfected this way.
I agree, but people claiming that a god can't exist are contradicting that, until something is proven not to exist there's still a slight chance that it can.
Even if god exists, he is not the way religious describe him. He doesn't seem to help all these people in need. God sucks dick he can do anything but twice he tried to destroy evil and failed, therefore he is not omnipotent therefore not worthy of the title god.
Free will and shit. God sucks dick he can do anything but twice he tried to destroy evil and failed, therefore he is not omnipotent therefore not worthy of the title god.
Christians I talk to say he's going to one day, just as Jesus is going to return from the dead. Again. Same thing happened in Religulous with Bill Maher. "What is he waiting for?"
Jesus will return by 2050 says 40% of Americans. Doesn't make it true.
Jesus will return by 2050 says 40% of Americans. Doesn't make it true.
I really hope I'm alive when he doesn't.
If Jesus returns, we should attach him to the cross once more. [editline]01:31AM[/editline]
Anyway, how are you all knowing if the universe continues to expand forever?
Not forever, only until it runs out of energy required to expand. Which is too much for us to understand, so it's easier to say forever.
If Jesus returns, we should attach him to the cross once more.
And launch him into the sun in whatever type of space vessel we've designed by the alleged 2050 return date.
And launch him into the sun in whatever type of space vessel we've designed by the alleged 2050 return date.
Works for me
The more and more science disproves religion, the more religion shifts its beliefs from 'this actually happened' to 'actually that was just a metaphor for something else, were soooo clever like that you see..'. Give it another few centuries and Jesus will probably be a metaphor for domestic abuse or some shite.
You really think that if religion was phased out of our culture, we'd be worse off for it? I've got all the morals and none of the supersitition, so what's the problem?
I was saying if we phase out the teachings of religions (Being hospitable to guests, being brave, being kind to others, etc.) we'd be worst off, that and a lot of the legends of old have some pretty good damn morals. Besides, boring would the world be without it? Sure you can still believe in the Big Bang and such, but the story like personifications for why the world exists is rather poetic. It still shouldn't be taken seriously. QUOTE=WhatTheKlent;24575773]Science is based on evidence, Religion is based on primitive beliefs. You can't say that religion is wrong but the same goes for me claiming I'm a moon-pig from the third moon of Unkion.
If the beliefs of religions are so primitive and outdated, why do some of their ordeals manifest still today? While we don't believe in Zeus anymore we still tell ourselves and others to be hospitable to guests, just not like the Greeks do. Science is indeed the truth in ways, but remember that a lot of it is theory after all and cannot explain everything as far as we currently know without making extreme guesses. Religion is indeed based on beliefs, some indeed primitive and known to be false. But if Science is finding and explaining what is the truth. Religion is then the truth of Science told in a way of a tale or story personifying the morals and values the people who worship cherish. Sure, you don't need to teach others how they should act like Aesope did, but how many people will listen as much if you just say, "Don't lie or nobody will believe you." A lot of it has gotten pretty twisted when corrupt persons manage to get in a position of a leader of sorts over those who believe in it much to seriously. The Crusades are a prime example being horrirific and repulsive that people would murder due to different beliefs.. It's almost like propaganda.. Possibly even worse then normal. People are still taking religion way too seriously yet at the same time people are taking Science to be the absolute truth, which it it isn't always. A lot of scientific theories are indeed just what it says on the tin, What I'm basically saying is if we take away Religion, the world becomes colorless and emotionless. Take away Science and the world becomes stupid and ignorant.
A good idea.
But then we'll have an even bigger problem when he reacts with the core of the sun and returns as Nuclear Man!
What I'm basically saying is if we take away Religion, the world becomes colorless and emotionless. Take away Science and the world becomes stupid and ignorant.
You can teach morals through stories and make them as entertaining as you want, without having to falsely claim that any of them are real events. I'd rather have a colourful world where I'm not lied to.
Fine. We send him to Pluto. Then he, and the ex-planet can be exiled by all of humanity.
some of us have feelings...
You can teach morals through stories and make them as entertaining as you want, without having to falsely claim that any of them are real events. I'd rather have a colourful world where I'm not lied to.
Exactly, thats why I said people are taking religion too seriously , a lot of it might actually have some sort of truth to it, we just don't know for sure. Its silly now-a-days that someone would actually think that some powerful punish you direly if you do yadda-yadda-yadda. Which is dangerous because of how this can be manipulated by others, hence the crusades and the ignorance we see alot of today. It's essentially propaganda.
Fine. We send him to Pluto. Then he, and the ex-planet can be exiled by all of humanity.
Lol.
Fine. We send him to Pluto. Then he, and the ex-planet can be exiled by all of humanity.
Anyone who hates on Pluto the PLANET is a freedom-hating terrorist.
