?
Never bring a knife to a knife fight.
Knifin' without Commando Pro. What a scrub.
Never thought something like this would happen around where I grew up. Its good nobody died though
Yes, at least nobody died. I guess I'm not sure why someone would go around stabbing everyone. What does that do for you? What does that accomplish? All it really does is throw your life away. This little prick gets to fill out the part of job applications where is asks if you've ever been convicted of a crime.
Was it worth it?
For a stabbing spree in a high school? I have a feeling he won't be seeing any job applications for a long, long time.
Holy shit, how do you even manage to stab so many people?
You never saw me playing spy.
On a more serious note, it looks like more than one people got involved.
Ban knives.

Operate in an area with a high density of people and move really fast?
Unless you absolutely can't afford it, I believe so, yes.
Also this is the reason I keep telling people gun control won't work. Wicked people will do wicked things, with or without your legislation.
Yet nobody died (yet). Just a little flaw in your argument.
Realistically guns are way more efficient at killing than knives are, how can you even compare the two and expect to be taken seriously?
The fuck was this kid thinking? Or maybe he wasn't. In any case, this is pretty messed up and sad and I hope the people involved are alright.

Rational thought very rarely precedes any form of violent crime.

Very true. Sad that such a young kid did this though, his life will forever be stained.

I expected Penny Arcade Expo, for some reason.

In two days, you'd have reason to worry about that :v:.
the thing that differentiates this from the vast majority of school shootings is the fact that nobody is dead
so I would not look at this event as some sort of argument against gun control at all
plus, using this event to legitimize 'I told you so!!!' is a pretty shit thing to do, 20 people got stabbed.
I cannot agree with your third statement there; if 20 kids getting stabbed is a good reason for some policy to be changed, then I will use 20 kids' being stabbed as an argument.
I go to a school not far from this one. One of my teachers has a niece that goes to this school, and she was so shaken. The school handled the situation really poorly, they wouldn't let a lot of parents in. According to tweets from the students it was chaotic in the middle school (where they had the students stay, telling the public it was "secure") even 2 hours after the stabbings took place.
Knife attacks like these are pretty frequent in China, and a lot of the time it results in casualties.
From what I understand this guy literally just went flailing down a crowded corridor dual wielding knives, so it's not much of a surprise nobody died. Using this guys incompetence as an argument for gun control would be silly.
It's great that nobody died, but people could have easily died and people do in fact die to knife attacks like these. Knives aren't quite as dangerous as guns of course, but they are still pretty dangerous.
i wonder what his motive was, the student they interviewed said he wasn't bullied and didn't seem to bully anyone else either. not that bullying is the number one cause but it's just curious

He's a crazy person.
A thread about a stabbing in a school, and majority of the posts are about gun control.
Never change, Facepunch.
Heard about this today in class. Blows my mind how this could happen.
Get caught in a mass shooting, can't afford medical bills, sue the school so they can pay. That's like the most 'murican scenario I've ever heard.
To be fair, you can sue and include your legal costs into the payment.

Okay. A violent act was still committed. It's beyond great that no one died but that doesn't justify the act at all.
plus, using this event to legitimize 'I told you so!!!' is a pretty shit thing to do, 20 people got stabbed.
Look man, I'm sorry you got that impression from that, but that's not what I meant at all. All I'm saying is that no matter what you legislate, no matter what you ban, no matter how hard you try to control it, sick people are going to do sick shit, because that's what sick people do.
Yet nobody died (yet). Just a little flaw in your argument.

See above.
Just because one is more efficient than the other doesn't mean it can't cause physical harm or fatalities. Just because no one died in this incident doesn't mean they couldn't have.

yes but we can cut down the death toll a lot. fucking obviously there will always be psychopaths murdering people, but it is entirely possible to make it more difficult to murder as many people. you are arguing that "a few people dying is just as bad as way more people dying so why should we even bother trying?" seriously, take a look at what you're fucking saying because it's insane.

I never said we shouldn't bother trying, I said it wouldn't stop it entirely.

So should people stop looking at alternatives because they don't remove the problem completely?
even if you're well-off enough to self-pay hospital visits, most doctors won't even accept you for an appointment if you don't have insurance
Uh, no?
Many doctors will actually give you a moderate discount for paying cash only since they don't have to dick with the insurance company to get paid.
So should people stop looking at alternatives because they don't remove the problem completely?
No? Just don't expect it to work perfectly.
Nobody died though.
How about that.
humans are getting stronger and stronger, soon we won't have to fear our knife oppressors anymore. the cold steel will be useless against our strong bones and thick skin. they will rust.
