unless the dog mauled and/or killed a person, it shouldn't be put down in the first place. from what I've read, it seems like he just bit a person or two. nothing a little bit of Obedience School can fix.
Why bother
Why bother
So injuring(a minor one at that) a human is enough to just throw a dog's life away? [editline]05:47PM[/editline] When it's not even the dog's fault most of the time?
So injuring(a minor one at that) a human is enough to just throw a dog's life away?
Yes. Better safe than sorry. God knows what next he could do.
Yes. Better safe than sorry. God knows what next he could do.
That's why you take him to obedience school, to help him stop that kind of behavior.
Sure, but I hope you don't and never own a dog, since obviously you're not mature enough to take responsibility for the safety of you, your dog and other people and their pets. More so I hope you never have the opportunity to decide the fate of an animal because of an owner's irresponsibilities and/or negligence.
Lol. Red herring.
Why should the dog die because of the owner's fault? Really?

I blame PETA.
Why bother?
So the dog can live and not be a danger to people?
So injuring(a minor one at that) a human is enough to just throw a dog's life away? [editline]05:47PM[/editline] When it's not even the dog's fault most of the time?
Face it, furry, dogs are obsolete creatures who don't deserve special treatment for being "cute". Dogs should be put down for assaulting humans. You're an idiot if you think a dog that's "cute" should be allowed to do whatever the fuck he wants, a human's fault or not.
Why bother?
He didn't kill anyone, if we killed every Dog that injured someone we'd be left without quite a few dogs.
So the dog can live and not be a danger to people?
Except that he was a danger to people in the end.
So the dog can live and not be a danger to people?
Yes, let's waste tax-payer money on a cause that gives nothing back to the community whatsoever.
So the dog can live and not be a danger to people?
Just inject and be done with. Less money and faster. And no risk.
Sometimes these stories are exaggerated. My dog(who we had just adopted from the breeder after it had an owner that neglected him) was almost put down once before. We had taken him to the grocery store with us(we had just been to the vet before, and we stopped at the store on the way home), and he was tied to the furthest back seat in our SUV while we ran into the store for 5 minutes. As we were leaving the grocery store, the bagger asked if we needed help, and we told her no but she insisted that she had to take the electric cart my dad was using back into the store. So skip to when we have almost all of the bags in the car, the lady noticed we had a dog in the car and she wanted to pet him, but I guess she didn't up until my dad went into the front seat of the car to do something. While he was there, she decided to stick her head in the car to give my dog a kiss(and the way he was tied in, she had to actually lean her upper body in for him to be able to reach her), I had told her before hand that he isn't used to strangers yet and to just ignore him, but she did it anyway and nipped her on the nose, it didn't even break the skin and wasn't bleeding, but she told us we were okay to leave and she went back inside the store. Later on we found out that she was literally mentally challenged, and her mother wanted to sue us(which she did, but she didn't have any proper evidence for the claims that our dog caused her daughter permanent damage to her nose). Present day my dog is okay now after we had trained him not to be territorial and not to bite humans, and he hasn't growled or nipped anyway since.

A real man has a Wolf not a Dog.
Send it into orbit
Ugh. Seriously facepunch? Do you guys have like a dog-phobia or something? "hurrr if a dog bit me I would kill it" Its not that big of a deal. Dogs do that. Usually, its not even the dogs fault. Some prick might be fucking with it, and yet, the dog would still get the blame. If you can't take care of your dog and stop it from biting people, you shouldn't have a dog. Its not the dog's fault, its the owner's.
A real man has a Wolf not a Dog.
What about a Wolf-dog?

When you put a dog on death row it's usually because a vet deems that the dog unfit for a new owner. [editline]07:21PM[/editline] I own a dog, I love dogs, but I understand that all dogs can't be rehabilitated for ownership.
I gave it to your mom, Raw Dawg style.
He didn't kill anyone, if we killed every Dog that injured someone we'd be left without quite a few dogs.
Dogs are incredibly overpopulated especially in the U.S. so no we wouldn't. Even with sterilization and euthanasia, the dog population is out of control in the U.S. Vicious dogs should naturally be the first ones to go because it's sometimes impossible or incredibly expensive to rehabilitate an animal that only lives for ~12 years. I'm all for saving dogs that can be but if you really want to make a difference, start a shelter. I prioritize humans over any animal so if I'm going to spend money for a service, I would spend it on a human instead. The same can probably be said for most. I have three dogs, two rescued from the ASPCA so don't say I don't care but when you have a limited income you would probably spend extra money on a more worthwhile cause.

What does my avatar have to do with this?
Lol. Red herring.
Or..not? I didn't dispute, he can blame the mangy hairball all he wants, but I hope he can never do anyting about it - not really a diversion, but additional input.
if a dog is obviously way too fucked up to be properly owned anymore, then put them down. but we shouldn't be fucking getting dogs killed because of one random incident of minor bites. it's just dumb.
Why kill a dog for attacking someone ? This is like the Law system only Nazi style. Do something bad get executed. Person does something wrong, meh let him go.
