Oregon Court rules that simply viewing child pornography on the Internet isn't illegal

I don't see any problem with possession of child pornography, but viewing it on the Internet is a good step in the right direction.
I'm glad that the good state of Oregon can see to providing justice for pedophiles such as myself.
So does this mean I can fap to jb in Oregon?
not saying I would/have.
Not saying you should but it makes perfect sense, why the hell should you punish someone for looking at random shit on the internet, even if it's exploited children? You aren't directly enabling the person who made that image in any way so why punish those who commit no real crime?
While this does make sense, you shouldn't be punished for accidentally viewing CP as it IS a common occurrence. If you download it, you're a sick person.
It's the people that take the photos then upload it that should be imprisoned.
To the most extent I agree with this. However that's only because people might be tricked into seeing it, I still hate pedophiles with a burning passion.
I personally think that only intentional viewing of child porn should be illegal, i.e. if they paid for it or they have shit tonnes of cp.
Logics before pity morals, i agree with this.
Suddenly living in Oregon doesn't seem so great...
this is good, the same thing that happened to
I don't know why this law hasn't been adapted nationally, especially after this: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/856234-Accidental-Download-Sending-Man-To-Prison
happened to me
There's actually no real way to track that if you think about it.
Other people's sprays are saved on your computer.
On one of the two times I have been on 4chan I saw CP, fucking awful stuff.
By the other threads way of thinking, you could've put a CP picture in the OP and fucked anyone who clicked this thread.
It just doesn't make sense.. but this definitely seems like it's going the right way.
Hey, I live in Oregon.
But yea I hate surfing the web and in advertisements, or whatever, they have grotesque content, whether it be child porn, unneeded gore, etc.
But it definitely shouldn't solely be the viewers fault, unless as the article stated, the viewer purposely downloads the content and shares it from there.

Weren't you the one 'protecting' furries?
Logics before pity morals, i agree with this.
"Logic before morals" leads to things like eugenics. Even the idea that it's bad to hurt other people is a moral one, not a logical one.

A lot of the "CP" on 4chan /b/ is just spam that has actors (19 year old girls trying to look younger, etc).

And the ones that look like cp from the thumbnail, like the baby holding the finger, or the guy lying on his stomach.
It also happens if some dick decides to spray child porn in Source games.
heh
it gets stored in your temporary files while the player's connected to the server i think
In my honest opinion, even looking at child porn shouldn't be a crime. Throwing morals out the window, they aren't the ones that exploited those children, all they're doing is getting their rocks off at those pictures. Its morally insane, but thats logic.
While this does make sense, I could imagine it being used in favor of paedophiles actively seeking out the content.
"I swear I just opened the link from another porn site."

They're still an accessory to exploitation, and are enabling the exploiters to make more CP.
Off to Oregon :q:
I'm from Oregon and the conservatives want to introduce a measure that will make all viewing of kiddie porn illegal. So this ruling may just be temporary and is most likely have been passed to close loopholes in the legal system.

I don't think I've ever 'protected' furries, but to be entirely honest, furry fetishism doesn't actually hurt anyone, despite how sick I might feel their fetishism is, the only fetishes I really hate are pedophilia, sadism, zoosadism, zoophilia, rape fetishism and just about any other fetish that involves hurting other people or animals.
I believe it should be legal to view anything on the internet, just as long as it wasn't intentionally viewed, downloaded, or paid for.
Then people would download 5TB worth of movies and say "oh i didn't mean to"

Sadism is fine as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult, just like every single other sex act.
Welcome to Pedoregon.

The act itself might be fine is they're consenting, but what I hate is the mindset that comes with sadists. You just know that if they could get away with it, a lot of them would do it to normal none consenting people.

Do you think child molesters are going to stop molesting kids if there isn't anybody on the internet to look at their child porn? No, they'll keep on molesting kids regardless of the size of their audience.

Thats like saying watching those videos about some cop wrongly shooting a guy makes you an accessory to murder. And unless they TELL THEM somehow to make more of it they can't be enabling them.
