HiRez to re support Tribes Ascend due to sucess with Smite
Tribes 2 was exclusively projectiles bar the ridiculously difficult to use Laser Rifle (sniper) yet it was even faster than T:A with the very popular 'Classic' server mod.
He's not including bullets as projectiles.
or just fucking give all non-laser projectiles inheritance. No idea why they gave some projectiles none, others half, and spinfusors full.

I fucking hated competitive rulesets. Around the time I was really really good at shrike piloting, they decided to not allow vehicles in most of the tournaments I was in.
Shrikes weren't even terribly overpowered, people were just really bad at combating them. I would routinely get 30+ kills, multiple flag captures, and at most have one Brute trying to shoot me down.
People didn't realize how much damage small arms could do to the shrikes, so they didn't bother trying.
it's because vehicles are inherently broken in ascend. you'd have insane flag caps because somebody decided to buy a shrike and abandon it while boosting towards a flag, instantly going 300+ kph making it impossible for defense to react or chase
PLEASE OH GOD PLEASE
I miss Tribes so fucking much
dont give a fuck about balance or hirez' crimes against humanity i'm so back in
HiRezSean is taking to the forums in a really well presented way. Lets see if they can pull this off. Cautiously optimistic.

Usually a doombringer can stop a vehicle boost in its tracks + sentinel, or ive never played against anyone good at it. We've never banned vehicles except base jamming.
Even if Hi-Rez completely fixes Tribes, everyone will continue to hate them. That's just the way the world works.
Still, at least I enjoy Smite.

Yeah I don't care that they left tribes, I do care that this is how they treated it while they had it.
hahaha what a fucking tool

Link?
I really hope this is true, Tribes is the only game I play or rather have played for a lengthy amount of time for the past 3 years.
It's awesome but I hope their reaction time to balance something out is faster than in Smite
I really enjoyed this game when I played it until the plasma gun was released. Their cycle seemed to go: release really overpowered thing that you basically had to play a ton to earn or buy, then nerf it (my examples are the jackal and plasma gun). Shit got old.
I also really hated how killing anyone felt more-or-less useless because respawn times were about 5 seconds at the most and generators were either ridiculously easy to kill or ridiculously hard to kill.
My main gripes were Brutes suiciding onto the flag stand with discos, sentinels existing, and juggernauts having spinfusors-from-the-hip.
The game played great and was a ton of fun for the most part though.
HiRez don't get a second chance after the way they dropped tribes for a retarded moba cash grab. That's what REALLY stung. They can go fuck themselves imo.
How exactly Smite is a cash grab though
Well, guess it's time to reinstall after a looong time once the update comes out. I'm not spending a single cent on the game though, unless they seriously turn things around and start giving it proper support.
He's not including bullets as projectiles.
The only ballistic weapon in T2 was the chaingun and it was more of a back-up gun because it wasn't an ultra-accurate, rapid-firing stream of bullets. You had to actually be close and I mean real close for it to be worth dick.
In fact Engineer turrets are the most impotent thing in the game.
Are you fucking kidding? Last time I played it, that's what I was dying to 90% of the time and that is no exaggeration
Well, after some update way back I've been unable to launch the game.
It just doesn't work no matter what I do.
I've reinstalled the game, reinstalled the OS, done all sorts of shit.
It just will no longer launch.
Some of these people who are getting even more pissed at Hi-Rez for trying to revive it are hilarious.
It'd be like if Konami just all of a sudden came out and said "Hey look, we're sorry about the Pachinko shit we pulled with Castlevania and Silent Hill, here how about two brand new games and a full apology to Kojima in the hopes that he'll maybe come back to us?" and everyone responded with "NO KONAMI, YOU FUCKED UP. GO FUCK YOURSELF IN THE ASS WE DON'T WANT ANYTHING FROM YOU ANYMORE."
It's still a fun game and it does have a lot of content. It's fairly nice of them to actually start supporting Tribes again considering it was a poor business investment.
I'll come back if they start fixing it up again, and address shit like hitscan weapons all over the place. I played the fuck out of it in closed beta, but it genuinely did seem to go downhill after release.

They require the generator be up, and even then they're only good if your team has like 2 or more of them. If it's just one or two, you can easily kill them because the sight lines in that game are ridiculous.
I wouldn't be concerned about balance, bugs and optimization anymore if Smite is anything to go by.
I would love some kind of PvE modes, as unlikely as that is. I really dig going fast but I'm not big on competitive games.

Because losing 30 million usd in two years between tribes ascend and global agenda sure had no part in it.

Their launcher sucks. I tried to launch Tribes using the HiRez launcher, and it seems to have downloaded Paladins. I'm not even joking. I have no idea what the fuck happened.

Hype as fuck.
Though it will never beat the memories of having in-class LAN parties of Starseige Tribes in middle school.
Still, lets rev up those 24/7 raindance servers

Holy shit that's incredible.
I actually managed to get tribes to work yesterday after some hours of effort.
Basically I ended up manually having to delete everything that could possibly be related to tribes and hi-rez, by using "everything" (local search engine) to search through my computer.
Finally... this was the game brought me back to multiplayer FPS games, please don't disappoint me HiRez.

To be fair though, if Konami did that we all know it wouldn't be because they were truly sorry for hurting us and care about us. It would be because they want money and just see us as big bundles of cash.

A company has no means to provide empathy. Individuals do, but not a company. A company is not a human being.
