Realistically there can never be a clear-cut winner against two countries with (supposodly) nuclear weapons and 2nd strike capabilities. All you get is a lot of death.

Didn't Russia save the isreali asses like 60 years ago?
At first, the USSR supported Israel because of its strong socialist nature, going so far as to be the first nation to officially recognize Israel as a country, but soon after it realized Israel wasn't going to be their pet and so switched support to the Arab countries.
As opposed to US arming terrorist organizations?
Did I say that? How about nobody arms terrorist organizations.
I wonder what would happen if the Israelis sunk a Russian ship carrying weapons to Syria.
Retalation?
The origin of attack, be it vehicle or a facility, would most likely achieve orbit after Russia's counter-attack.
Obivously you have no understanding of the conflict. It's not a matter of the weapons "might" be transferred. They WILL get transferred. If Israel attacked the shipments every time they transferred then they would have struck a lot more. They just have to do it in a measured, controlled way as not to attract retaliation. These are highly accurate/powerful missles that would be targeted against civilian populations. They could cause mass civilian casualties not seen before. Israel lives in an environment that no one else lives in so you can't say they have no right to do this. This is life and death for many Israelis.
With actions like this, the Israeli government is setting the country's future in stone. They are committing themselves to being a permanent malicious presence in the region, and frankly since they aren't even making a serious effort to make reparations for their settlement or ensure diplomatic stability, it's very, very hard to acknowledge even their basic right to defend themselves.
While the current generation of Israelis aren't responsible for the past mistakes that led the country to it's current state, the current settlement actions and subtle ethnic cleansing campaign are utterly indefensible. People aren't even supporting Israel for solid reasons or principles anymore. It's just become an effort to save face and not make the entire struggle die horribly in vein.

Yeah there was a lot of communistic ideals there. Like the Kibbutz movement.
Israel Israel Israel... even if you guys are so anti-Israel and you can't fathom Jews returning to their ancient homeland you guys still never mention the teaching of hatred to the Palestinians from a very young age from the Palestinian media and such. You never mention anything bad the Palestinians have done. You guys act as if the Palestinians are completely perfect "victims" and have done absolutely nothing wrong. As I have said before go to palmediawatch.org and it shows you all the anti-Jewish incitement/anti-Israel incitement perpertrated by the Palestinian government. This is the government mind you not the people. Can you imagine if the Israeli government broadcasted government sponsered TV that said that Palestinians and Muslims were evil and violence was needed against them? They teach violence against Jews/Israelis. Even if you argued that Israel was bad then what the Palestinians have done has been much worse. Teaching violence and suicide bombings and all these atroticites. Yes there are Jewish extremists but in proportion there are many more Arab Palestinian extremists. When is the last time you heard a Israeli Jew blowing themselves up? Obviously the Palestinian and the greater Arab society needs to change and be more accepting. I can't tell you how many horrible things I've read on facebook that Palestinians and other Arabs have said about Jews. Again I've seen bad things said by Jews about Arabs but its nothing in proportion to what the Arabs have said. Also if an Israeli Jew writes or does something bad in relation to Arabs or Muslims a lot of Israeli Jews condemn it and yet its very rare to hear any condemnation amongst Arabs. Heck the current Palestinian "moderate" government actually encourages terrorism and violence because they reward former Palestinian terrorists and yes they are terrorists (kill people on purpose, blow things up) with homes and money. They even name streets after them. They need to start condemning them. So before you start talking about how Israel does this, Israel is so bad, etc then research what the Palestinians have done. It's just not as focused on the Palestinian side because the media is disproportionately focused on Israel. Often times it's not even reported.

Hahahahahah I seriously thought they'd atleast try to make it sound unbiased.
while i agree Israel is a bit of a bully in the middle east right now, Russia should do the right thing and NOT supply weapons to the guy who the U.N. and the international community has declared insane and is actively killing his people.
cmon Russia this isnt fucking 1970, its 2013, lets work together instead of against each other

Except Un is doing suicidal thing supporting the rebels, when those rebels are shia extremists who supports jihad, while Assad had fairly secular regime.
In my opinion, everyone should get out of Syria's business, especially Israel.
Supporting either Assad or rebels are suicidal and stupid.

Sweeping all the rebels into one group is a little extreme. From what I've seen a lot of the extremists actually moved in, taking advantage of the situation.
I think people are laughing this off too easily just because it's about Israel. The idea that Russia could potentially be arming terrorist organizations is something to be concerned over.
I don't think Russia is going to arm terrorist organizations willy nilly. They have a pretty strict stance on terrorism and probably treat any they find worse than we do, and we just ship them off to Gitmo
Sweeping all the rebels into one group is a little extreme. From what I've seen a lot of the extremists actually moved in, taking advantage of the situation.
Doesn't really matter now who started the uprising and who hijacked it. The problem is that supporting the rebels now will most likely turn ugly - a lot of them will then join terrorist groups (if they're not already in one) and use provided weapons to do a lot of harm. You can't cherry pick who to give weapons at this point.
Direct intervention won't solve the problem either, it will just create a third side of the conflict.
Fuck off, Isreal.
Because, invading other countries airspaces and blowing up weapon depots because weapons "might" get into enemies hands is self defense.
But most of those weapon depots were chemical weapon storage facilities. Nobody needs that, I have to side with Israel in destroying them.

I don't recall it being a chemical weapons depot, it was a research facility that they blew up.
