• Amazon's Ad Slamming The iPad Mini Has A Blatant Lie In It
Samsung and Motorola have both engaged in some heavy lawsuits themselves, towards other companies in similar markets (HTC being a major target). Everyone seems to praise Samsung for stepping up against Apple, but let's not forget Samsung has been accused of being one of the most corrupt companies in Asia. I'm not saying the disdain towards Apple isn't justified, but I hate the incredibly one sided bashing. If Samsung does something wrong, FP ignores it as if it were an honest mistake or as if they were just defending themselves from big, bad Apple, but when Apple does the exact same thing it's, "this is why I'm never buying another Apple product," and, "Apple is literally worse than nuclear war." These are corporations, not some small shop on the street corner owned by your grandmother. They'll lie, cheat, and steal just the same.
I can agree fully agree with you on this one. But yeah same thing counts towards Call of Duty. More of the "I hate this very much but i don't know why exactly, guess because this is CoD number 9 already!" Oh and something i also don't really understand sometimes, everyone at FP was bashing the iPhone 5 for having a longer screen and thats it, well i am pretty sure that every single phone who gets a successor that it is also 'just a larger screen and some better components' like the Nexus and Galaxy series
Tablet speakers suck either way.
But its so good to go on a bus with your tablet playing your unique choice of music as loud as it gets on speakers for everyone to hear instead of earphones!
Though in all fairness the Kindle is a better product in my eyes. You get the same experience (maybe even better if you really like what amazon is about) for a lot less money. It still does not excuse them for falsely advertising what another product has (Or does not have in this case).
ipad mini is pretty abysmal spec-wise (it's basically a smaller ipad 2 in which pretty much everything except the GPU is outdated) but you get the entire selection of ipad apps which is a massive bonus; it has the largest selection by far
I was a lot more surprised about the other shit in the comparison, to be honest. That side by side, assuming everything else is true, makes the iPad Mini look like a joke.
This reminds me of an AD that was on TV when I was younger, it was always the two same battery companies flipping their dicks out all the damn time, Duracell and Energizer, every single ad they stated each of their batteries lasted 10x longer so you never knew which was better :v:
I dont get how things like this happen. It's not accidental, because you dont make a point out of something you dont know is true, and it's not like nobody would notice.
I have a feeling the guy they had make the graphic simply did a test and the upper marketing didn't check enough. Happens a lot, they take the test ad and go ahead and show it.
Although to be fair, if this was the reverse, FP would be throwing a massive fit over the lie in the advertising however small it may seem to be.
You uh, didn't see apple's "Android can only run phone apps" thing, did you?
that's fantastic but mono provides better audio quality
Are you saying this because you saw that thread about vinyl represses of Beatles albums and saw everybody posting about how they wanted mono versions? Because there's a completely different reason for that.
Points 1-3 are the exact same thing.
They don't mention that the KFHD has hdmi-out ... to any HDTV vs Airplayed to Apple TV or one set up for a local network and of course no use having an hdmi-out on the iPad mini. There are little pluses that I like a lot like the video streams that have been 'X-rayed' with IMDB info (Amazon owns IMDB) so that when you stop a scene on the KFHD, you can see who the actors are in that scene and their bios etc...
how are stereo or mono speakers a major selling point, with how crappy speakers have to be to be in one of those super thin tablet things and with the whole seven inches they could have at most between the two stereo speakers I doubt it makes much of a difference. They'll probably fix it sometime soon. The comparison still has the Kindle winning by several miles.
I don't get is; have they scrapped Kindle's "electronic ink"-displays in favor of the LCD displays they were so adamantly bashing because of screen glare and whatnot?
I don't get is; have they scrapped Kindle's "electronic ink"-displays in favor of the LCD displays they were so adamantly bashing because of screen glare and whatnot?
The Kindle Fire series isn't designed to replace the E-Ink kindles, it's designed to deliver other Amazon content, not just books. There's still good, new options like the Kindle Paperwhite if you want E-ink.
"Ultra-fast MIMO WiFi" What the hell is this? Any stop copying the marketing gimmick of 4Geeeee LTEeeeeee
"Ultra-fast MIMO WiFi" What the hell is this? Any stop copying the marketing gimmick of 4Geeeee LTEeeeeee
Multiple-Input Multiple-Output ... Engadget said it means the tablet can both send and receive data simultaneously over its pair of antennas, getting better overall throughput. This is said to show up best with HD streaming and the dual antennas also help with overall signal strength. They reported that they had a Nexus 7 and a Motorola Droid RAZR M and "the Kindle Fire HD was easily the best of the bunch." Gizmodo said "MIMO is no joke" and that they got an average of more than twice as fast as the Nexus 7 and the original KFire. CNet tested signal strength and wrote that at about 20 feet away and between several walls, the Nexus 7 lost the streaming signal and never picked it up again while the KFire HD never stopped streaming, keeping the HD resolution even when Josh Miller left the test router's range and the tablet switched to CNet's building-wide network.
that's fantastic but mono provides better audio quality
Oh god what the fuck
Just a follow up. Apple finally updated today their iPad mini specs-page at http://www.apple.com/ipad-mini/specs/ to show (under "Iput/Output") the words "Built-in speakers" (replacing "Built-in speaker"). This was after a few requests that their specs page should be changed to reflect what Phil Schiller was saying if the emailed "It's in stereo" referred to the speakers rather than the headphone minijack. There's no comment on the page about the change. Since both speaker grilles are on one side and within 2 inches of the other, they probably aren't emphasizing the 'stereo' aspect in their advertising or Oct 23 announcements.
Yes, which is because most folks tend to like Amazon because Amazon isn't hell bent on fucking everyone in the ass in every conceivable fashion. Amazon is given the benefit of the doubt because they aren't dicks.
when my macbook pro broke in 2008 apple replaced it with no questions asked. you obviously have zero experience in dealing with apple's customer service lmao
