DICE threatens to ban BF3 users who use color-correction

Wow. That looks awesome with proper colours, it reminds me more of BF2. I never noticed how blue everything really was.
Its a shame DICE and EA really do not want to promote something which got Battlefield where it was. Modding If anyone remembers half of the team which worked on Battlefield 2 were a modding team from Battlefield 1942 and after they finished Battlefield 2 they fired them all.
But the point being without a modding community Battlefield would not get where it is today and to be fair, Battlefield wont go on any further without a modding community. They will continue to make Battlefield games which gullable and confused gamers will buy, but unless they encourage modding the game will never be considered a "Good Game" in the eyes of the consumer.

at least it's not as bad as killing floor. i understand why they did it but it still makes my eyes hurt
at least some maps on kf look normal
kf_wyre is just fucking weird.
The colour correction in game doesn't match concept art goddamnit! Ban them all!

Can't sell $50 season pass dlc if mods are available.

shame, it actually worked with BF2 though, people bought AF/EF/SF even though mods were out.

There were hardly any SF servers.. and AF and EF were given out free with 1.5 so..
Color correction is worse than cancer.
-Dice
Played Battlefield 3 for like 1 month. I own every single Battlefield game and played them in my whole life.
I am so damn disepointed at Dice so I've now given it away to a guy in my school.

I played SF all the time, what are you talking about.

So did I and compared to BF2 there were hardly any servers.
FYI They are banning for a legitimate reason.
Well I feel like a right proper poppycock
Should've read the thread :v:
“Also, I wouldn’t use those hacks if you don’t want a permanent ban on your account. FYI warning.”
sounds more like a warning due to an uncontrollable autoban system than a threat to me.
[editline]4th October 2012[/editline]
to be fair though this kinda annoys that they don't have something that allows it, which kind of shows they just don't want it in a way.
another example of someone who read the thread title and immediately started smashing his keyboard without actually reading the op, perhaps in future you should read it instead of having a tantrum of your own. by banning for the colour correction they're also banning people for removing the suppression feature from the game along with other stuff. Shame they can't just release a colour thing in a separate mod that doesn't get you banned.
Doesn't matter, DICE still fucked up, and not everyone who has the color correction is a cheater.
Why the fuck would they make those values clientside in the first place ? It's like begging for someone to mod it for cheating. It's something you'd expect from a console multiplayer, except it's on a PC and it's easy as piss to change.
There's also the sensible alternative of adding in the option to disable those effects since people hate them so much, which isn't hard, and then you ban the program.

Well to be fair BF3 was designed for the PS3 in mind then ported to PC and 360.

Except PC was supposed to be the lead platform and they kept up that lie for as long as they could.
Probably netted them a lot of pre-orders from players who believed them.
Nah, stop at 17 but reduce the bloom and lens flare a tad
Coming soon:
"COLOR GRADIENT OPTIONS!!! NOW $14.99!!!!!"
The lens flare bugs me a ton in BF3 sometimes, especially in maps like Damavand Peak. I have the console version though, so there is only so much I can do about it.
You know, it'd be interesting to see an optional removal of the color grading as an official option within the Graphics menu instead of an external and questionably-hacky mod, DLL or FXAA injector. But that's probably wishing for too much considering the number of problems with BF3. Also doesn't help that DICE is probably concerned more about producing BF4 under EA's beheadst, DLC aside since i'm not sure if that's inhouse at DICE or outsourced to EA themselves.
Perhaps the sad thing is that if BF4 doesn't innovate enough and the modern shooter market flunks out by then, it might kill the series since they confirmed it won't be a 2142 but another present-day game.

I don't want to see what 2142's mutated sequel will look like, it would be too much.
the normal colors are just fine.
and BF3 is extremely repetitive anyway, the colors don't change that.

color theory changes everything
tinting shit like this ruins all the work the artists put in.
Not too long ago Chet said something about skins in L4D2 being VAC bannable.
Never happened but still, this made me think of that incident.
Where's my ban? I've never got banned for custom skins.
DICE should take a hint and just add an option to tone down the colour correction...
send an angry letter to EA.
lol, court is more likely to succeed with ea.

It is, they made interiors for buildings then decided not to make ladders or stairs for them.
