People who think Christians are idiots are egotistic.
Uhmmm... excuse me, sir, but I beg to differ. When we say religious people are idiots, it's because they actually are.

Sorry to be blunt about it though.

Back on topic, this story... so much stupidity... it hurts...
HHHHHHHHNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG--

So, an omniscient being needs to be reminded that gas prices are really high? And, wouldn't God have bigger problems to solve anyway? For example, the fact that Japan is being put through the wringer. I'd rather God help with that than gas prices.
That means that either:
1) He doesn't exist (As shown by the suffering of innocents)
2) He enjoys watching us suffer, thus making him undeserving of any praise/worship.
It's called inflation you dumb redneck bible thumpers. It's supposed to do that (although it's a bit out of control with our reckless spending and wars.)
I'd rather "God" (lolgod) help with the situation in Japan.
Oh Christians. you make me laugh.
I would pray for us to find a way to use other things, such as salt water or something, that we could use as fuel.
I'm going to pray for Christians to stop praying for stupid shit
I love how Americans think they have it bad when it comes to gas.
250$ just to fill up my tank.
woah
where do you live
Praying = Wasting time, thus a useless act.
Unless you yourself believe that it will do something, that's why people do it. They wouldn't do it if they didn't actually believe it would do anything.
Cause their beliefs are funny :(
HAHA JESUS WAS A CARPENTER
HEY
HEY JESUS
I'M PRAYING FOR SHELVES RIGHT NOW
Praying is doing more than most people are doing about it. The gas crisis keeps getting worse, perhaps the fact that people are praying for it to cost less would be a sign that it's really fucking bad, but no one sees it as that.
I don't get why Christians think that praying to an omniscient, "perfect" being is somehow going to change his mind. Assuming he is all powerful and actually knows what he's doing (big assumption) why do people think that clasping their hands together and muttering is going to make him change his mind?
So much of popular Christian theology makes no sense.

What makes you so sure God isn't the one putting Japan through this?

I hear ya... I myself can't wrap my head around those concepts either...
MAKE MORE CONVENTIONAL OIL, JESUS!! :frown::arghfist:

Jesus only ever supported ethanol.
Maybe it'll work :unsmith:
Idiots in general.
So Christians.
Praying =/= Actually doing something.
Well it's usually medical cases but praying can cause what would be considered a placebo effect and actually help patients (assuming they're actually Christian)

Why would god help those who he punishes :D
Jesus Christ!
woah

It costs £80 ($140) to fill up a small corsa here. If he has a bigger tank, it's in no way unrealistic.
I like how everybody in this thread assumes that all christians are like this
Praying = not dealing with a problem and hoping God will fix it
Praying=a feeling of being unable to do anything to fix and so therefore backs up into corner and prays to one's own religion.
God damn....get it right people.
So, people are praying for things they want to happen, what is wrong with this ?
No one gets it. They're EXTREMISTS. They're like the terrorists from the mid-east. These are terrorists from the mid-west.
They're going to fly a plane into the gas station.
So, people are praying for things they want to happen, what is wrong with this ?
"Please god, help me find my car keys!"
Do you see anything wrong with that?

No.
No.
You failed Facepunch quiz #1, "All religions and people who partake in religious activities are retards because all we see are extremists talking."
"Please god, help me find my car keys!"

Yeah, I do.
Why are you asking God to fix your inconsistencies in remembering where you put your goddamned car keys.
Yeah, I do.

Because he believes in God.
