You're very uninformed. Ever heard of a package manager?

If I double click that icon it installs google chrome, finds any dependencies and if it finds any it prompts me to download those hypothetical dependencies. Then thats it, its installed. Everything in linux is category sorted for the most part making it extremely easy to interact with and maintain provided you're willing to learn. Such is the same with Windows and how you did not know what was what when you first interacted with Windows.
Linux isn't locked down, everything you see on my screen is optional. Example I'm using Nautilus for my file manager but I could remove it and then replace it with something else if I wanted.
And a fantastic feature are package managers which have configurable repo's you can add, for example RPMForge or RPMFusion, or the default Fedorapeople repos and you can receive updates via these package managers.. example Yum.
I tried to explain this in a way a Windows user could understand, don't grill me hardcore Linux users.
It took me 15 minutes to install google chrome on linux because I had to use workarounds and such for everything and then find out I am missing dependencies blablabla, while on windows it takes me 5 minutes
Doubleclicking the rpm showed up an error without results on google, and debs didn't work either

What distro were you using?
now i know why avast warns me of viruses when i come to facepunch
they should play happy wheels instead
For all you elitist fucks going linux doesn't have viruses hurrdurr.
It does and they are just as bad as any windows virus, so shut the fuck up and stop spewing crap about how the OS is superior.

No, you're wrong. All we need is a firewall. Ever figure out why ever other AV released for Linux is a on-demand scanner? We don't need active bullshit because Linux is more secure.

no its much harder then that you have to press the y key after it shows you what its going to install!

MAC doesnt have viruses.
We do though have VERY nasty trojans. If you get infected, there are no tools like Malwarebyte´s Anti-Malware that would save your ass.
If you call to the Apple Support, they will give you a very nicely put presentation of "Why your Macintosh simply cant get infected by anything."
Of course, the only problem is that what they tell you is complete and utter bullshit and you are still infected. -> off to re-install everything
