A representative told IGN, "Activision can confirm that they have something in the works with Tony Hawk, more info is coming soon." While reminiscing about the Pro Skater series on his Demolition Radio show on SiriusXM, Tony Hawk said, “We’re working on a game, we are working on a game, it's pretty cool.” A co-host, likely referring to motion capture, followed up, “It’s a whole suit you have to put on."
I'd love a next-gen Underground.
I never played a Tony Hawks game after Underground 2, were the games after that good?
The series went downhill after the whole board controller bullshit. They could have went somewhere with Project 8 and the other game after it but they gimped everything so much and there was so little content. [editline]20th February 2014[/editline]
I never played a Tony Hawks game after Underground 2, were the games after that good?
American Wasteland was pretty good. I thought Project 8 was alright.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD is heartbreaking to me, they got so so much right, yet the engine was just not up to par. It felt like it could have been a perfect blend of all games, but didn't because they botched the physics.
Just make underground 3 ugh
didnt tony hawk have one game that was so bad it only sold like 3K copies period?
the glorious 4K UHD 60p of paulie 'wheels of fury' ryan
snip-
This is pretty brief, but what the fuck couldn't they use the kinect if they're refeering to what I mean
It sounds like standard motion capturing for developing the game to me, as in for the animations. I really doubt they're gonna pull a Tony Hawk Ride 2.0, after how terribly it sold.
didnt tony hawk have one game that was so bad it only sold like 3K copies period?
Yeh, the last one Shred in 2010.
didnt tony hawk have one game that was so bad it only sold like 3K copies period?
Yep. They forced a shitty gimmick into the game no one wanted, and therefore the series went on a hiatus.
Obligatory: I just wish Neversoft would develop it
didnt tony hawk have one game that was so bad it only sold like 3K copies period?
Yeah, Tony Hawk Shred. It didn't only sell 3k copies period, it only sold 3k copies in the first week, the point still stands though: it sold abysmally.
Less games about skating properly, more nutter games where I have to grind a power-line and take down a water-tower please. Underground 2 and American Wasteland were ace.
i saw a tony hawk shred + peripheral in a dollar store for 10 dollars
what a ripoff
American Wasteland online on the ps2 was literally my life for a while.
I never played a Tony Hawks game after Underground 2, were the games after that good?
American Wasteland was like "THUG but also bikes", and Project 8 was "THUG but all on one map". Not bad games but they didn't live up to THUG or THPS4. After Project 8 they made one game that focuses on the ability to place obstacles in the world but it was 'realistic' to compete with Skate and it sucked, then they made Shred which sold 3,000 copies total. Hopefully they take the THUG/American Wasteland ideas and expand on those. A modern Tony Hawk games could be great.
I used to play alot of the tony hawks games, i've gotten into tony hawk pro skater 3 and 4, underground 1 and 2, and love all of them but hate it just as much... 4 was the more frusterating but underground 1 and 2 was just perfect. I think I actually broke one of my controllers when playing tony hawk pro skater 4 when i got so pissed off at the game.
Bodacious!
In THPS HD, they sold reverts as DLC. Reverts. As. DLC. How the fuck do you sell a mechanic like that in a game that's had them for years?

DLC. How the fuck do you sell a mechanic like that in a game that's had them for years?
Because the revert wasn't added until THPS3. THPSHD was a remake of the first two games. The DLC added maps from 3 as well as the revert as a bonus. The funny thing is that the PC version had the revert even if you didn't buy the DLC.
I hope neversoft makes it
THE ACE OF SPADES, THE ACE OF SPADES I DONT WANT TO LIVE FOREVER AHHHHH
The Tony Hawk games started slipping up after American Wasteland. Project 8 was okay but I could feel the life draining out of the series throughout that game. Proving Ground wasn't as bad though but I just feel the series has kinda run it's course.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD is heartbreaking to me, they got so so much right, yet the engine was just not up to par. It felt like it could have been a perfect blend of all games, but didn't because they botched the physics.
When I failed a grind and my guy shot 5 feet in the air in the T-pose and fell sideways on the rail before cartweeling 5 times, I wanted to close the game. The next dozen or so times the ragdolls and every aspect of the physics broke sent me into a nostalgic depression where I had to find the original cartridges to convince myself that the original games were in fact more functional than the so-called HD remake.
American Wasteland was pretty good.
I thought it was decent, but there were also some changes I definitely felt was for the worse and mainly I strongly disliked that you had to choose your character from a number of presets instead of allowing you to make your own like in all the previous games. I have not played project 8 so I can't say if these complaints hold true for that... but 2 things that have annoyed the fuck out of me with most Tony Hawk games is also 1. The custom level builder never gets improved between games besides adding and removing some objects. In every single game the level builder always forced you to place things along a grid, and in every single game the amount of objects you could place was always very limited 2. Custom made moves does not transfer between sequels. THUG had custom manuals but no custom tricks or custom grinds, THUG2 had custom tricks but not custom manuals or custom grinds, THAW had custom grinds but no custom tricks or custom manuals.
THPS4 has one of the best soundtracks of any game
THPS4 has one of the best soundtracks of any game
To be honest all of the pro skater games have awesome soundtracks
THPS4 has one of the best soundtracks of any game
A lot of the Tony Hawk games have kick-ass soundtracks. They remain my favorite part of the games. They introduced me to a few bands I'm still into today.
Oh god, I loved THPS3, that was my favourite. I hope it's going to be similar, that would be awesome. I still listen to the soundtrack, it's great.
