Now the questions remaining are who and why. I get it that you might not like a fandom, but if you're willing to endanger someone's life because of it means you're a psycho and should be jailed.

Hey I was there! Man, what a night, pretty adventure filled at least. Luckily my room wasn't in the main hotel, so we ended up harboring 25 friends in a tiny one bedroom suite until they kicked all of us out :v:
Wasn't super serious to most everyone, mostly just wandering the streets for hours in the middle of the night and trying to find places to crash or hang out away from the giant crowd in the convention center.

I'm personally glad it didn't get too serious, but tbh nobody's got the right to go around doing this kind of thing. The people who resort to this shit are the ones who, in my view, really need their heads examined, because they're the ones overreacting to something they could have just turned a blind eye to.
And even in the case of a known pedophile or a known incident of bestiality, you're simply going to have to let the law take it's course, you really have no business trying to say, lynch them even if they're as rotten as last week's fish. The best the law will permit is roughing up such individuals before handing them over to the proper authorities. If you by some chance happen to forget this and lynch said individuals, the law's not going to take much accounting for that, you'll still have to do your time for it if you get caught. Just pointing this out.

Nothing really justifies attacks like this - would you say the same thing if somebody say, got hold of some nerve gas and tried to gas the entire convention because they didn't like the whole fandom?

I've indeed visited FurAffinity out of curiosity in the beginning to see what they got up to there, and I didn't really like what I saw there either. I'm personally not into that sort of shit, and I couldn't get into it to save my life.
But if people don't like something, keep it to "I don't like this" or something similar, perhaps hot words at worst if you really don't like it, but this kind of chemical attack is going too far, because furries are human beings too (even if they themselves identify as otherkin or w/e) and are thus entitled to the same civil rights as everybody else.
If you think their community is obnoxious, say so, and leave it at that.
