the only good thing i can remember her doing was pushing for better catalytic converters
Hahaha fucking finally, let's dig a hole and hand her to satan personally
regardless of what you think of her and what she did, the idea of having a state funeral for someone who indirectly or directly caused so much upset and rioting and has divided opinion across the entire country for so many years, is fucking dumb
And she'd damn well better not get a state funeral.
If she was so brilliant and doing such a good job, why did her own party remove her from power?
I didn't say she was so great.
I said her policies basically helped the British economy when up until that stage it was falling apart.
Also remember the party was divided over her.
These ratings, together with Thatcher's combative personality and willingness to override colleagues' opinions, contributed to discontent within the Conservative party.[174]
On 1 November 1990 Geoffrey Howe, the last remaining member of Thatcher's original 1979 cabinet, resigned from his position as Deputy Prime Minister over her refusal to agree to a timetable for Britain to join the European Exchange Rate Mechanism.
It wasn't that she was doing a bad job, they just resented that she was more powerful and overruled them
Make sure to get footage of the people partying in the streets.
Seriously, how would have you people solved the problems of the 1970s?
British industry was living off the people and unable to compete with foreign competition (oh wow our former colonies are industrializing, let's protect our own industries and pretend it goes away).
How the fuck would have you managed it? Where the hell is the money to pay for all these state industries going to come from as you sink into stagnation?
The reason she is hated is because whilst she helped save British industry, she did it in the rudest and most unpleasant manner imaginable.
I didn't agree with her political agenda in anyway at all, but still, RIP, she was probably one of the most influential women England has ever seen. She is still the only female Prime Minister we've ever had so, you know.

It would be the only state funeral where the 21 gun salute is fired at the coffin

The cornerstone of any good democracy.
She shat on the working class.
Sold off all the council houses so that working class families can't get decent housing these days and are forced to rent from Slumlords at high prices
Sold off the Utility Companies to Private owners so that now pensioners freeze to death in winter because they can't afford the expensive fuel prices charged by these profit-hungry monstrosity companies.
Stopped free school milk
Poll Tax/Council Tax (making everyone pay a huge chunk of their income to the Local Authority in Tax with no regard as to their ability to pay this)
Decimated our Heavy Industries costing millions of jobs - at the height of her power there were 3 million unemployed.
Destroyed the Trade Unions, robbing the working man of the right to stand up for himself
Turned this country from a place where people lived in strong communities with a sense of culture and heritage into a capitalist hellhole where everyone is laden with debt, morals and tradition has gone to the dogs and noone gives a sh*t about each other and only cares about credit cards and consumer crap.
Maggie is the reason this country is in such a mess today.
Lets not forget how she made "raves" illegal to cover the fact she was failing the war on drugs. I recall the law is something like "Repetitive music in locations without license", something stupid like that
she has the blood of many british and foreign people on her hands
Just like every UK prime minister ever?

You mean the raves that took place in disused factories and warehouses without any form of permission from the owner or a license?
guys check "Meryl Streep" trend on twitter
Let’s not beat around the bush here - Margaret Thatcher was absolutely correct in what she did. What she had achieved was nothing less then preventing Britain from becoming totally irrelevant in international affairs and set Britain up for the age of globalisation.
In the Falklands she demonstrated that Britain was still a military power. By smashing the unions she kept British industry from becoming a footnote in international business. By merely becoming Prime Minister she vindicated everything the Suffragettes had sacrificed a hundred years earlier.
But nevertheless, she will still be seen a demon beyond the Pale of the Midlands, and sacrificed all Tory ambitions for taking the cities. Why? Because she had essentially thrown Northerners under the bus to keep Britain relevant. How can we forgive a woman whose Cabinet suggested - in effect - to abandon the North to endless grinding poverty?
So Thatcher will be remembered. She will be remembered as the woman who kept Britain in the game, who stood up to the Soviet Union and broke the glass ceiling for all women in politics. But she will also be remembered as the woman who broke the pride of the North to save her country. And we have long memories
That came after in the mid 90s I think. The public order act or something I think.
Hey - I'm not standing up for Thatcher there, I live in the bloody North. Before Thatcher, my town had a population of over 8,000. Now, because of Thatcher's policies, that figure now stands at 3,000
