That isn't godwin.
You can't just go 'LOL GODWIN' every time you see the world Hitler and pretend you even understand Godwins law.
I remember it all like it were yesterday.
It was 1979, and there were only good, hardworking, honest, British men working to put bread on the table for the wife and kids and Colin the dog.
Our great government protected us from the foreigners who threatened our way of life. Whenever they dared threaten us, we would rise up with our comrades in the trade unions to destroy evil capitalists.
But then, we had not prayed to Marx hard enough, and he sent a pestilence upon the land.
The ground cracked open, and out of hell itself did Maggie Thatcher crawl out. It would prowl the streets, ripping open innocent women to eat the flesh. It sucked out their eyeballs, in order to see the activities of all trade unions in the isles.
It was elected head of the Scumbag party, after they made a deal with the devil to win the next election by destroying Newcastle, it was to rule for a miserable 12 years.
I was there when it personally met Arthur Scargill and tore his testicles off. I was there when it tore open the bellies of trade unionists and feasted upon their organs with fellow scumbag members.
It was only after years of tyranny, far outstripping anything Orwell imagined, that the Scumbag party members collectively doused it in acid and stabbed her heart with a stake, they managed to remove her from leadership of the Scumbag party.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha
I'm just not a fan of hating on recently deceased old ladies, regardless of who they are. Most folk ripping her don't know jack shit about her, her policies, or their legacy.
I have a feeling I'm the only one who doesn't know who that is.

"Margaret Thatcher the Cum Catcher"
I have a feeling I'm the only one who doesn't know who that is.
Eh, nah, you're definitly one of the very few.
She was a prime minister hated all around the UK and the world who screwed over the country so far up the arse the brits still have hemoroids.
Americans were bashed for celebrating in the streets about Bin Laden's death but the UK seems rather happy with their own former prime minister dying in this thread.
The world confuses me sometimes.
I think most people who are "celebrating" her death are just being morbid
Unlike when Osama was killed by american soldiers and those people chanted USA USA USA in front of the white house, that was pretty fucking jingoist and tasteless
Outwardly celebrating someones death is probably pushing it a bit
Turned this country from a place where people lived in strong communities with a sense of culture and heritage into a capitalist hellhole where everyone is laden with debt, morals and tradition has gone to the dogs and noone gives a sh*t about each other and only cares about credit cards and consumer crap.
I have a hard time believing Margaret Thatcher is the single cause for the decline of British culture in the UK. It's certainly not like she single-highhandedly did that.
I'm a socialist myself, but all of this celebratory crap just seems ludicrous. I mean, I strongly disliked Reagan's policies towards the American working class, but I didn't open up a champagne bottle when he passed away.
Ding dong, the witch is dead
That's offensive to witches.

To be fair most of the people actively celebrating his death in the streets were either college kids, or fucking idiots anyway.
Slightly off-topic, but anyone else at an American college/university ever notice how Greek Life always clings to "Support Our Troops" fundraisers? I remember I had to stand opposite a sorority at a club fair once, and they seem like they're pro-war and just have zero-clue about any of the facts about the war :v:.
don't have a moral issue with people celebrating thatchers death- they won't be celebrating the death of a person (who few knew) but a political actor who ruined the lives of millions. Tonight, personally, I'll be remembering those who struggled against her, her class, and their politics, for little or no material gain, for long years and decades- let's remember the miners, the steelworkers, the LGTBQ activists, the feminists, the socialists and working-class activists from all traditions and none, who, in the face of the greatest ruling class offensive in post-war history, stood up for freedom and socialism, liberty, equality and solidarity- the ideals that thatcher detested. And let's honour their memory by- tomorrow and the next day and the months and years after that- continuing their struggle. We can win this.

who needs good social policies when you have swag?
remember that thatcher haters
-snip-
If people hated her so much, how did she manage to stay in power for 11 years?
Really curious about this
I've never understood this idea that just because someone dies, anything horrible they may have done in their life should be overlooked or ignored. They we should only sing praise of their name and put them on a pedestal.

And this changes what exactly?
concept album time
At the end of the day she was just someones grandmother suffering heavily from Alzheimer's, her political side has been long dead, celebrate her death if you want but it's a) pointless and b) tasteless.
And this changes what exactly?
Just pointing it out that Osama's death was pretty much used as an excuse to party across American colleges.
