Oh and lets not forget she considered Nelson Mandela a terrorist.
There's a lot to hate about her, but I celebrate no ones death, no matter what they did.
I can foresee house parties all over the place around my area.

- Miners strike isn't her fault that the Mining industry was so heavily subsidised as to be unsustainable. It would have only gotten worse and the unions didn't help.
- Apartheid? Really? Thatcher was against the Apartheid in South Africa - she was just also against the economic sanctions too. Think about it, how does economically strangling a country help their most impoverished citizens in any way?
- Hunger strikes - the ones by IRA prisoners? The same IRA that assassinated a member of the Royal family and attempted to assassinate her?
- Pinochet - quick google search brings me a BBC article with this quote "Lady Thatcher thanked her old friend for being an ally during the 1982 Falklands War - and for "bringing democracy to Chile". "
- Poll tax, became the council tax we have today - 23 years on.
- race to the bottom, not as if GDP and income increased during her time in office, right?
- Section 28, repealed in '88

Some teenagers on a web forum isn't comparable to thousands celebrating in the streets...
I can understand not liking her policies as they were dividing, but to celebrate her death is bad form.
wtf i thought she was dead?

Council Tax is actually pretty much going back to the 'rates' that were in place before the introduction of the Community Charge, which were also based on the value of the house and not a flat charge based on each occupant. The Poll tax was also doubly stupid because it had been tried before, and had pretty much the same results.
I seriously can't tell if everyone on facepunch is trolling or just the same 12 year olds that franky boyle keeps making fun of on twitter.
Aside from arguing if she was a cunt or not (she was) whats with the double standard?
You all wanted Ghadaffi hung up by his toe-nails and have his eyelids cut off and are activally chanting for the Norks to be nuked, yet people here are crying over the death of Maggie Thatcher.
Oh, Also; Before anyone points out the fact that quite alot of Facepunch would be too young to lived through Thatchers reign, it's shit the way people celebrate [insert any political figure here's] death. They should all be ashamed.
I can understand not liking her policies as they were dividing, but to celebrate her death is bad form.
People celebrate every politicians death. In the United States when Bush dies we'll see it big time and again when Obama dies, big time.
good job being a hippy im sure you'll go to heaven when you die now
zinger denied
also imagine if it was your mum who everyone was cheering the death of after she had a stroke
and thats not even what a fucking hippy is

facepunch is not one person
But how? was the demographic of england divided by 60% rich fucks and 40% poor fucks?
Perhaps events like the Falklands War gave her approval at the right times?
Yep, it was the war that got her in.
facepunch is not one person
The collective hivemind makes me wonder at times.
Yep, it was the war that got her in.
She won her third election victory 5 years after the Falklands war ended, a war that was only 2 months long. There is no way in hell that she won just off the back of the war..
I think the hate for maggie is more tradition, word of mouth from peoples mothers and fathers from that time.
Even growing up in a scouse family I was taught to hate her for some obscure reason.

probably because Bin Laden was shot whereas Thatcher died at a rather old age of natural causes
probably because Bin Laden was shot in cold blood whereas Thatcher died at a rather old age of natural causes
The blood was very hot. It was an intense situation.
not that i'm celebrating anyway, i just won't miss her.
The blood was very hot. It was an intense situation.
They were sent in to kill him.
It was a calculated decision.
Off to shut down half the furnaces in hell and attempt to privatise the pits of hades. Rancid old bint.
can I have my milk back now?
It's sad that she's dead and I don't wish death on anyone but why are people trying to argue that she was good for Britain? Because of that 'Right To Buy' bullshit it takes fucking ages to get housing from the government when you truly need it.
good fucking riddance, she fucked over me and my entire family and openly tried to destroy the working class
she should be wrapped up and dumped into the ocean like bin laden was

The policies that made her so maligned in the first place are still alive and and growing stronger. Let me know when they're dead, and I'll join in on the celebrations.
All that died was a frail old lady, who done what she thought needed to be done for the good of a nation. Evil is a point of view.

Well to be fair, he absolutely was a terrorist before he became president. He co-founded MK, and led bombings against government targets, he was just the kind of terrorist people like because the system he was attacking was so awful.
