Oh No.
Why is the media acting like this is on the same scale of the Lincoln assassination?
Shit. This is going to have worldwide repercussions and overall going to cause problems.

Because Michal Jacksson is an musician that is well known troughout the world.
Why didn't the assasination of Olof Palme get this much attention?
NOOOOOOOO they got it wrong
Fuck. Time to bet. If he gets Guilty i will raffle 7 random TF2 items.
toxx
Even though the evidence available makes him look guilty as fuck, he would be found guilty not matter what happened. The Jackson estate's lawyers would have been available to spin the evidence anyway they liked and the jury would not be impartial, since Michael Jackson is such an incredibly famous person.
Shame really.
And apparently he's a danger to the public as well.
Really?
What are this mans supposed motives? I have no idea how he could benefit from killing him. I bet he's a good doctor too, Michael had the cash. Really doubt he would make such a mistake.
negligence resulting in death i think.
Poor doctor, looked devastated. I hope his sentence will be logical.
It was obvious from the start, no matter what he did or how many lawyers he had, he was guilty for just being in the room Michael Jackson was in, even if he didn't give him medicine. Shame Really. Should have been left free until sentencing.
When will he be sentenced? Today? Knowing the US Justice System, he'll probably get 70 years whereas a paedophilic rapemurderer will only get 25 and get out in 10.
Fuck, worst part is that we can never be totally sure that the jury wasn't influenced.
And apparently he's a danger to the public as well.

Here let me administer propofol to you for a couple weeks. It won't kill you I promise. Definitely a cold blooded killer...
Ok, so he committed manslaughter. Not aggravated murder. Fairly different, but both are still crimes.
i knew it was murder when this whole ordeal was first brought to court

They are saying November 20something. I think they chose the 29th. I think he'll get like 10-20 years. Not a stupid amount. I mean he didn't commit murder, he committed manslaughter. That obviously carries a lighter sentence.

BBC is saying the maximum sentence is 4 years and his medical license will be revoked. And that he isn't likely to serve that sentence in jail, due to overcrowding.

someone will shiv him in the lunch line

Except it's not murder, it's manslaughter caused by gross negligence.
And I'm not sure why he's been remanded in custody, because to commit the same crime again he'd have to still be able to practice medicine, which he can't, so he's hardly a danger to the public. I don't think he's stupid enough to try and break bail either.

If he even goes to jail. A lawyer the BBC was interviewing said he was likely to spend his sentence either suspended or under house arrest.
So... I'm not too clued up on this so please correct me if I'm wrong. But as I understand it, he was trying to help MJ and involuntarily aided in his death.
Doesn't this kind of stuff happen on a kind of regular basis? Don't Doctors and Surgeons kill people while trying to save them all the time? Are they all liable for manslaughter?
I'm slightly worried and confused :(

Generally if your close to death and they think they know how to save you, they can try and that is what they are supposed to do. What he was doing was giving him a drug that he really should not have been given and should have seen a specialist instead if he was indeed having trouble getting to sleep.
