Anytime a violent protest happens in the East, somewhere, sometime, somehow there is always a Lenin statue to topple. Just how many of those damn things were built?
you vastly underestimate the plethora of Lenin statues http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_statues_of_Vladimir_Lenin
Pff protesters. This was sponsored by the local government and supported by local police. Just a few months ago the same statue was saved from being destroyed by local protesters.
It's a symbolic move, the residents want to distance themselves from Novorossiya, where the perception of the Soviet era including Lenin is a lot better. Besides, to be honest an average Lenin statue like that don't have much artistic importance.
It does have a lot of historical importance though.
It belongs in a museum!
I agree, this was definitely sponsored by CIA, ISIS, the Catholic church and the Jews
Well it was sponsored by the local government. They allowed them to hack through the reinforced structure for hours.
Well it was sponsored by the local government. They allowed them to hack through the reinforced structure for hours.
What kind of hacking. "Beep boop beep sunglasses" hacking or "axey slashy stab" hacking
What kind of hacking. "Beep boop beep sunglasses" hacking or "axey slashy stab" hacking
gay hacking
It belongs in a museum!
Well the Berlin Wall is now in several museums.
gay hacking
Shit, the worst kind
Well it was sponsored by the local government. They allowed them to hack through the reinforced structure for hours.
There was a huge crowd and Ukrainian riot police is shit
There was a huge crowd and Ukrainian riot police is shit
Someone here suggested that removal of the statue was permitted to quieten calls for the mayor to resign. The OSCE/SMM reported that a few groups were calling for him to resign accusing him of being pro russian, maybe him allowing them to do that (but having police there incase they went bonkers afterwards) is him saying "im on your side"
In Kyiv the SMM monitored on 25 September a protest in front of the Presidential building, which constituted of approximately 200 persons, mostly men from the Kharkiv AutoMaidan, Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, COMPAS, Hromadske Varta Kharkiv and Dergadur Alternativa. The protestors sought to meet the President to ask for the removal of the Mayor of Kharkiv whom they accuse of being pro Russian. The protest was monitored by the police and ended peacefully.
Which city are you from by the way?
Well probably because it isn't one.
rotate that flag just slightly to the right m8
that has to be one of the most obvious "totally not a swastika" symbols i've ever seen.
It's not a swastika, it's another symbol the nazis used called the Wolfsangel
And it still does not make the basic requirements to be a swastika.
Stretch it out.
And it still does not make the basic requirements to be a swastika. Besides that its a symbol on its own.
Totally not used by the SS and modern day neo-nazis...
A day without Lenin destroyed is a bad day in Ukraine.
