SeaWorld defends its employees after dolphin bites Georgia girl's hand
Looks like tiny scratches, barely left a mark. Parents freak out too much about their children getting injured nowadays. Back when I was a kid I got hurt almost daily, and my parents saw it as part of growing up. The girl was probably given a few bandaids and that's it. Bandaids aren't even first aid.
Scars are the outward evidence that you have lived, I feel bad for people who don't have them.

your parents are dumb, you're not supposed to get hurt almost daily
that's called bad parenting
Not only that, but I honestly believe that kids that young, or at least kids that can't follow simple fucking instructions, shouldn't be allowed to interact with the animals.

They can't sue Sea World for the dolphin bite because it wasn't done on porpoise.

I bet he means that he got small bruises and such.
When I was a little kid I used to have my legs full of bruises and small scratches from playing around outside.
A kid who wouldn't look like that would very well give an impression of someone very sheltered.

They can ask to have it put down (ludicrous and would never happen), if they did they'd be monumental assholes.

if you're getting three puncture wounds everyday your parents are fucking up
"it's important that we film it "

They don't even look like bites, they look like it didn't break the skin but some blood got through.
if you're getting three puncture wounds everyday your parents are fucking up
Sorry, but look at the video, it didn't even break the skin, the dolphin barely hurt her, it was going for the tray and immediately let go when it realized it hit her hand. And as someone who has family that used to work with dolphins in a place like this, they -always- no matter where, say that you should never dangle the food at the animals, always throw them. If you look in the article too, this place has that rule too.

And did you never get scratches from climbing in trees, taking shortcuts through bushes etc? Damn you were sheltered.
And did you never get scratches from climbing in trees, taking shortcuts through bushes etc? Damn you were sheltered.
I just learned early on to avoid things that needlessly endangered me. When I was around four or five, my sister chased me and pushed me in to something and it resulted in two toes nearly being sliced off. A few years later, I ended up falling down a steep hill and bashing my face in to the ground. I blacked out part-way and came around at the bottom, covered in blood and barely able to see. If it weren't for the absolutely best luck of my neighbor being nearby at the time to take me home, I don't know how I'd have gotten back. After that, it occurred to me that the risks were not worth the rewards, and I just didn't do stupid things anymore.
It was just a little nip
Oh you got a little scab? time to sue SeaWorld for trying to murder our daughter
I went to see SeaWorld a good 5-6 years ago, and I STILL remember how much they emphasized not sticking your hands anywhere near the dolphins, and to only toss them the food. Of course it could be different in this case, but it just sounds like they weren't paying attention.
I feel bad for the girl.
Her parents are suck dickbags
It's just a flesh wound
Quit fucking with the animals. It's sad enough that they get penned up in the first place.

Sue the dolphin

not really.
if it's just having fun and not serious injuries it's fine.
This reminds me of something from the wildlife park near where I live. There was a family threatening to sue the park because a bear put their child's hand in their mouth (didn't bite or anything. Now, the bear exhibit is surrounded by a chain link fence, and beyond that, a waist high wooden railing. Then, it is covered with do not feed signs. The parents had lifted their child over the railing to feed the bear ritz crackers, and somehow the "blame" was on the park.

Of course, in the end they never went ahead with it.
Parents are always quick to assume the park or staff is at fault, never considering it might be them or their child that failed to follow instructions.
Speaking of stupid parents and bears, I'm reminded of something I saw at Yellowstone park. A bear was in the road, and people were pulled over taking pictures about 20-30 feet away. One guy took his kid, sat him about 15-20 feet away from the bear, and stood back to take a picture. This was not a bear raised in a zoo, this was a wild bear(well, as wild as a bear that doesn't give a fuck about cars and crowds of people can be, though that makes them more dangerous), and the guy actually put the kid between himself and the bear.
Wow.
She was barely injured. I mean, the article calls them "puncture wounds", but if that dolphin had wanted to do any serious damage (not that it wanted to do any damage at all, it was going for the fish carton), her hand would be fucking GONE.
Not only that, but I honestly believe that kids that young, or at least kids that can't follow simple fucking instructions, shouldn't be allowed to interact with the animals.

If the dolphin wanted to hurt her she'd be at the bottom of the pool with a broken neck. I'd consider leaving without an arm lucky.

And possibly raped.
Dolphins are adorable evil bastards.
Animal bites are always a serious matter.
Fortunately there were only small teeth marks, but dolphins are very powerful animals and could have easily severely wounded the girl. I don't think this incident warrants a lawsuit, but SeaWorld needs to re-evaluate how it approaches these feeding events so this doesn't happen again.
Yeah maybe they should tell them not to hold the plate above the animals so they don't make a grab for it, potentially taking a hand with them.
Oh wait-
Back in 2001 I was stood with my dad around where that girl was when a dolphin bit his hand. Then a lady on the intercom reminded people to dispose of fish containers properly as it swam away using his as a hat.
I assumed that by the title, they handed out shotguns and firing lined the dolphin while the crowd watched.

People shouldn't treat dolphins like they're fucking humans.
They're intelligent, but they're still animals, and are unpredictable. She shouldnt have held up the box in the air like that.
