Looks kinda similar to a skyscraper we have in Oklahoma City.
I live like 90 minutes away from NY and have seen the Freedom Tower and it is fuckin awsome
I like Sears Tower's design more. The huge black cocks looks cool as hell.
At first I read it like this :v:
Is this better? [Sp]Please don't hate me.[/sp]
Dude what the fuck why rainbow dash isn't even a unicorn if you're going to make stupid mlp references at least do it right
I bet the unicorn horn opens and turns into a giant mirror dish that can concentrate the sun on our enemies. Murica'
if you're going to make stupid mlp references at least do it right
how about we just refrain from doing that at all
So for you people who live in NYC/The general area around it, is the tourism (if any) for the new tower make the traffic slower even more then it already was?
Is the spike on the top a death ray. Seems very doctor evil.
Dont give them a reason to... Knock it down.
The antenna tower thing is just compensation for the fact that the actual building isn't as tall as the original Twin Towers (which I find hilarious given how proud we all are of it and just shows how scared this country actually is of a second attack on that scale).
What the hell do you mean? They didnt build it as tall because of the possibility of an attack?
What the hell do you mean? They didnt build it as tall because of the possibility of an attack?
the building is 6 floors shorter, the cold waters of terrorism have shrunk our steel egoweiner
I was just there today, the pictures really don't do it justice. The tower is huge and looks awesome, especially at sunset.
Its bit of pet peeve to me that that ornamental pieces like the one on that tower actually count towards the tower's height, while functioning antenna such as in the case of the Willis Tower do not.
I agree. We in Chicago will not stand for this blatant example of New York aggression, and will be lodging a protest with Congress shortly.
Its the Sears Tower and always will be the Sears Tower
They're all fake. There is no 1WTC. The conspiracy is revealed!
Reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold, BYEEEEEE!
First they show off by not killing each other for one week and now they're building bigger buildings than us? Fuck you New York we still have Capone and C.M Punk.
I can't stand being in exceptionally tall buildings. I think the highest I've ever been was like a 30 to 40th floor hotel suite. It was awful, I constantly felt like I was rocking around (which, at this time, I had a problem with motion sickness.) And getting near the windows at all gave me the worst vertigo ever and basically caused me to recoil in fear to the opposite side of the room.
I can barely even stand looking at tall things in real life without recoiling. It took me a very long time to be able to walk into the theater at a movie theater without freaking out about how far up the ceiling was.

Tower itself looks really cool though.
I just googled it and the roof heights are the exact same size

I hate visiting the city because I can't help but gawk in fear at the massive amount of weight thats constantly over my head.
so will this design actually be built or is it just more boondoggle?
why couldnt they have just rebuilt the originals?
why couldnt they have just rebuilt the originals?
the originals were built in the 70s i think, it seems better to use modern design techniques and architectural styles to create something different.
Would worrying for this new WTC building be wrong? I mean we made a FUCKMASSIVE big deal out of 9/11, so I feel like a new "WTC" would be a pretty big target, or is that not how things work?

I really don't understand the want to downplay what happened.
About 3000 people where murdered at the same time, it was a "FUCKMASSIVE" big deal. I really don't understand the want to downplay what happened.
I'm not commenting on whether or not we should have. I don't want to. But we did regardless.
the odds of anything of that magnitude happening again after all of this surveillance is slim to none
I'm not commenting on whether or not we should have. I don't want to. But we did regardless.
You seemed to be implying that it wasn't a big deal. So I do believe you where commenting on it
