Some of them are good, some of them are bagged vomit. I like some MREs, but I can see why some people would hate them if you have to eat them on a semi-regular basis.
This I do agree with. Say for instance, the Pork Rib and Beef Patty MREs are rather good, as are quite a few more. On the other hand, The Omelet entree might qualify for the bagged vomit. Hell, to be honest, it's kind of hit and miss in terms of good and bad. THe Pork Rib has been around since forever, so people like it.
Too bad these MRE's are like 2000 calories a box
Not quite. 0n average, about 1400-1700 in a package, depending on the contents. still nearly two meals' worth of calories. Do keep in mind these were designed to be eaten by people who are doing a large amount of strenuous activity, like soldiers doing their job.
The omelete, Vegetable Lasagne, Vegi-burger, and Jambalaya are shit. Not the good shit, but the does not pass for dog food kind of shit. MREs taste okay, but if you try eating that shit for a few months straight, it gets old fast. They made these sandwhich ones before, but it tasted like crap. It was just a thick bread dough with a little bit of meat in it. Soldiers complained, and now they come out with this. I kinda wish I could try it.
Finally, food that would last in my room
Hey couldn't they use the Space Food NASA use, they have like no moisture at all and they're tasty as tits
the Chili MRE is tasty as fuck, I've got to admit the military meals are not that bad compared to civilian food. Except for the Vegi Burger MRE, that is the worst tasting piece of shit i have ever put into my mouth.
Last one I had was Maple Sausage, and it was fucking delicious. The granola was messy, but they're actually not all that bad. I don't know why they're calling MREs horrible (Save Vegi-burger which is the biggest culinary abomination on this planet). I'd rather have them, which are filling as high-hell, than some hot pockets. Regardless, more choices is always better.
Mmmm rust sandwich. That aside this could possibly also be used to help 3rd world countries.
Its kept in a bag inside of the bag, like silca gel is. A recent BBC program (the science of decay) covered this quite in depth, it seems like an interesting program for anyone who is interested I have only seen clips from it so far.
if you were in the USAF you'd get lobster every night
The Air Force is for pussies.
I heard people who work on submarines get some amazing ass food almost every day. Well comparatively speaking. It's stuff like freshly made steak, eggs 'n' bacon, and hamburgers. Now the rest of the armed forces are catching up.
Normally stuff like that is made in the galley, but a lot of the times people on duty don't get the opportunity to get freshly made foods so they have to eat MRE's.
i want an mre for lunch now
They just improved the Military's life like, 2 times probably.
You have no idea. Good bye piece of shit cheese omelet and fucking trout!
Just wondering, do any of you people on facepunch actually know how much MREs cost? They aren't exactly the cheapest thing. Also, never eat the Chocolate Mint pound cake. Or any of the pound cakes in general.
For me there not nightmares, until you shit them out :v:
SANDVICH MAKE ME STRONG
