Tea Party members have been protesting big government and warning Democrats that they don't have long to stay. They've campaigned for real conservatives. They've been standing up when told to sit down. But they don't have the power to do good until elections to put in place proper representation take place.
Republicans? They've done nothing good. The best that they are is a funnel for the tide of liberal legislation. Unfortunate.
Disclaimer: This is an opinion.
uhh define left
The direction opposite of the right. A synonym of which is port, which is used in boating.
Oh and by the way I love how people here don't know shit about the Tea-Party. They protest government overspending and a one-sided government. But since they are right on the political spectrum they are all "Old white conservatives with racist views".

...
Correct me if i'm wrong, but a funnel is supposed to aid something in getting somewhere, to make it easier to pour something in. The GOP has been a stopper if anything else, they've stonewalled almost literally every bit of semi-major legislation that's come to the floor. Congress/the Senate isn't getting shit done because of that
England & Canada are reported to have terrible health care.
And yet these reports never come from British or Canadians

No, it's all the old white conservatives holding racially-charged protest signs and shouting racial epitaphs that make me think this.
"left" and "right" are pretty vague and subjective words.

If you saw it from my point of view, you'd be pissed as hell, because Republicans tend to be more liberal than their supporters would like (George W. Bush Term 2, for example).
I also fail to understand how Republicans can be such a stonewall when we have at least two regular swing voters in the Senate, usually classified as RINOs (my, how that term has lost its meaning). If anything is stopping the Democrats, maybe the Senate caucus members just lack any kind of charisma. A 41-59 vote imbalance can't be that much of a problem with people like Olympia Snow hanging around.

And healthcare reform doesn't count because its going from one shitty system to another shitty system.
Social Security, Regulation, welfare, WIC, secular legislation, healthcare reform (it does very much count sparky) etc

ok?
Name one thing good the tea party protesters have done that's good.

Wow, from my perspective, all that stuff doesn't seem so good. I think you guys are engaging in a strange fallacy by attempting to classify partisan legislation as "good" or "bad". That goes both ways.

Because of Ayn Rand.
y'know the sad thing is, you ask people on the street "whos the vice prez?" and they don't know. Sad. Very Sad.

People don't know the vice president? I mean, yea he doesn't really do anything, but still, I know all the VP's during my life (Quayle, Gore, Cheney, Biden)
Regulation is bad because... because...

Regulation is bad because it is my god-given right to be electrocuted by my toaster
People don't know the vice president? I mean, yea he doesn't really do anything, but still, I know all the VP's during my life (Quayle, Gore, Cheney, Biden)
yep, just goes to show how people aren't caring about politics anymore. Just other non-important celebrity idol-worship and other things.
Regulation is bad because it is my god-given right to be electrocuted by my toaster
This is true
Most people for regulation are just idiots who need to be spoon-fed and can't think for themselves to live a life of their choice.
Most people for regulation are just idiots who need to be spoon-fed and can't think for themselves to live a life of their choice.
Learn the difference between regulation and making a nanny-state, please. Regulations are needed because, like stated sarcastically above, otherwise I would be eating rat shit in my food or I might die from a toaster malfunction (not from my own ineptitude)
Most people for regulation are just idiots who need to be spoon-fed and can't think for themselves to live a life of their choice.
Yeah, that's what it's about.
You're retarded.
Regulation keeps industry in line. Industry will not stay in line on it's own, it needs regulation or else it will collapse in on itself and abuse the people beneath.
The only people who defend deregulation are naive opportunists who think they can make their quick buck and the system will regulate itself. Without regulation, we'd all be enslaved to corporations in 50 years.
Oh, and the same, but effective point, i've made in threads like these before. America, 1920's, lassiez-faire stance towards industry and the economy. Look at how that worked out and tell me regulation is a bad idea.
it would be like Idiocracy

it's getting to that point anyways. Soon there will be a president Not Sure.
Question,who regulates the regulators?

Why miss Quayle? The only reason I can think of to miss him is all the things he said that made very little sense.
Question,who regulates the regulators?
No one.
The regulators would be government/IRS workers who check transfer papers and other records to make sure businesses stay within the boundaries of the law.
If you wanted to get into specifics, you could say the supreme court.
