I seriously want this. Really badly.
also remember how those were the coolest thing ever? if you had one you looked like a successful businessman. it meant business. smartphones nowadays are more capable but look more like toys and jewelry than technology [t]http://scr3.golem.de/screenshots/0702/Nokia_E90/Nokia_E90_4_screen.jpg[/t]
Nokia's smartphones looked remarkably professional. I had an E63, and at the time, it was pretty much the shit. I felt pretty badass being the only one out of my friends that had a wifi capable cell phone.
As nice as an FM radio is, I'd prefer a DAB tuner, the audio is clearer and you could feed the data directly into the existing decoding support. Along similar lines, why not put a DVB tuner in there? These devices already have high resolution screens along with hardware accelerated decoding of H.264 content.
When I go on my post-college world travels, I will definitely take one of these. I have no idea how many power outlets I'll see in South America, so its long battery life would be useful. Also, my my little san disk mp3 player lasts way over a month. I love it. When its dying (very slowly) the pauses between the songs get longer.
sorry for the dumb question, but I have to ask this since I never owned a cellphone that had an SD card, but why do you need one? Is it to transfer media more easily or something? I never understood why we couldnt just connect it with a miniusb cable or something
Expandable storage, and in-case the phone itself craps out. And because I ALSO hate the dickwad trend of mobile phone manufacturers charging a premium for a minor bump-up in storage. "Bough a model with too little space? WELL BOO FUCKING HOO, buy a new phone"
A decent utility phone would be very useful for people with rough jobs if you think about it... I wouldn't want to take my iPhone into a construction site or something.
My HTC Windows Phone isn't really useful for car fixing/repair. This simple phone is what should be revisited today. A rugged, waterproof, shock proof, temperature-safe and lasting phone that can be used in adverse conditions.
This is awesome, but I don't think I could handle not having a qwerty keyboard
so its a reborn 3310?
I miss my Sony Ericsson Walkman phone. The battery life was around a week with regular use and i could put up to 8 gigs of music on it. Does anyone know if they still make them or something similar?
Uh, why not just get the Nokia 100/101? A month battery life, everythingproof, dual-sim, FM radio, Micro SD, Mp3 support, flashlight. All for like $35? The only thing it does not come with is a fancy arse camera with 'panorama mode'.

That being said, my Samsung Galaxy 3 (not the S3, lower-tier) has an annoying habit of rescanning the SD card (slowly) every time I turn it on. For what?

I had a 'free with new plan' phone from verizon, and it couldn't live without its SD card. I had a 8 gig micro card in it and it had all of my photos, so when I popped the card out, the wall paper would go away. And when I put it back in it would come right back. I think the sd card would be a very useful feature, if used correctly. It sounds like you have a weird firmware issue on your phone or something, a process like reading an sd card could be made more efficient.

Just go to their website, there is no phone that looks like W800i, K650i, etc anymore.

For what?
I'm assuming that it has to do with the fact that at any point while it was turned off, you could have messed with the SD card, so it has to rescan it for any changes in the contents. It does it every time it mounts the SD card. That part I know is normal, as my HTC Eris did the same thing. It should only take under a minute or two however.
The dual-SIM would be perfect for me. With that, I wouldn't have to carry a work and personal phone around all the time.
I might buy one as a back up phone. And I still have my Nokia 3315 that I still use as a back up phone when I break a phone.
