It doesn't? Just says he shot himself
The title was edited.
The title was edited.
Oh, that makes sense. what was the title?
That is a really misleading title there. Apparently the guy is still alive, and in fair condition, according to the article you linked.
The title never says, "Shoot and killed.", just, "Shoot.", it doesn't imply he died.
Glad he didn't die. Isn't it a rule of thumb to not keep a gun loaded unless you're actually using it?
Usualy, when you clean a gun, you unload the magazine and check if the chamber is empty. This is weird to be honest. I'd expect the gun to have the safety on, which in theory should be enough?
This is what America's soda culture brings us, more injuries. But what do you expect from companies like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo donating thousands of dollars to politicians? Personally I think high-capacity bottles and boxes should be limited. Nobody needs 12 cans of soda at once.
if only he had a gun
If only there had been a good guy with a gun to shoot him before he could do any damage :v:
i dont see any bullets in the barrel?
Here's what weird about this to me: He has a loaded gun, with a round chambered, in his vehicle and in a position that if he spills soda it will get on the gun. He spills the soda on the gun. He minds the details enough to remove the magazine so he can clean all the soda off, but he's absent minded enough to forget he chambered a round. He then reinserts the magazine with his finger on the trigger, which he then pulls because, why not? That's giving him credit for being only stupid and not brain damaged. If he chambered the round AFTER cleaning the gun, then shot himself, he's brain damaged. As far as safeties go, some guns don't have a safety. The grip is the safety in that the gun will not fire unless you have your hand squeezing the grip and pull the trigger, which no one but a moron would do before they are ready to fire. So this kind of grip safety works great...except for morons.
PROTECT YOUR FAMILY FROM SODA, BUY YOUR GUN TODAY!!!
[img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/YZCr26i.jpg[/img_thumb] "Guns don't kill people, people kill themselves, cause of soda"
Oh god dont let Mayor Bloomberg see this "If we had just banned large sodas AND guns this never would have happened!"
This is really not complicated. He had the weapon loaded with a magazine and the first round chambered. He spilled soda on himself, so he pulled the magazine, cleaned the weapon, and reinserted the magazine. Then, he most likely violated trigger discipline and accidentally pulled the trigger while inserting the magazine, firing the chambered round. The errors are thus: 1. Leaving a round in the chamber instead of fully clearing the weapon before doing anything to it. 2. Not maintaining trigger discipline at all times. Keeping it loaded and chambered is typical for concealed-carry, since many defensive scenarios do not involve sufficient time to chamber a round before needing to use the weapon. And there's no guarantee that he failed to properly use a safety, since many common handguns, such as Glocks and 1911s, do not primarily use switch-type safeties. But it's clear that while this is some serious mishandling of a weapon, it is something that anyone could do by simply not following basic safety rules.
It wasn't loaded when he was cleaning it though. He shot himself when he was putting the magazine back in.
Just because he took the mag out doesn't mean it wasn't loaded, he probably had a round still chambered
That's has to be the most american thing I have read all week.
