Yeah, and it was also the decade of underpowered shitboxes that would rust out from the inside. (Also, the first hot hatch came out in 1972. RWD hatchback with a V8 engine)
A 6.6 litre engine.. the Golf GTI had a 1.8 and the 205 a 1.9
I personally don't like the older focus models. Something about them seems cheap and tacky. The newer ones are sleek and nice though, I do like those
Personally I prefer the McLaren 12C but I guess whatever floats your boat.
Well having driven both a 12C and Focus I can tell you this: The 12C will get you laid but you can only carry the resulting family in a Focus.
I have a 2007 Ford Focus, it's diesel - 0,5l/10km varied driving and it's still pretty fast.
I have a 2012 Ford focus. It's nice
I smell somethings rigged, never has a American built car been good.
i've been noticing that you seem pretty anti-american
Everyone knows the Tracker is the best car of the past 25 years. Off-road capabilities of a Jeep, dimensions of a compact, serviceability of a GM, the glitz of a convertable and the cost of a K-car. Built from 1986 onwards. Hell, they still build them in Russia. They're ugly but dammit, you have to put effort into killing them, especially the old ones.
I smell somethings rigged, never has a American built car been good.
There's plenty of examples to throw at you to show you that you're absolutely wrong. The Tesla Model S, for example.
The best car is the Wienermobile. [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7b/OurDog.jpg[/t] Everybody knows that.
to be fair, the past 25 years includes the 90s and 80s. we dont talk about cars from the 90s and 80s
Meet the 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am GTA. My parents own one of the last MK1's ever built. Bloody good car, but the stereo is almost dead :( Driven past the factory where it was made on hoiday in Spain :v: [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] 05 reg [editline]2nd September 2013[/editline] My grandfather also owns a MK1, 2003 auto. That thing will go down our nearest A-Road at 120 mph, and the kickdown on that beast is amazing. But saying that, he has a 2010 top model Audi A6 work car, so he uses that to get around instead of the focus. It makes anyone driving it look like they're in the mafia :V:
As a car that's well rounded and reliable, I'd say that it's pretty accurate. Greatest car for the last 25 years seems like a joke to me though. But, as the greatest average joe car, yeah I'd say they're right.
to be fair, the past 25 years includes the 90s and 80s. we dont talk about cars from the 90s and 80s
My car is a 91, smack dab in the middle. [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/BANNED_USER/3Copy.jpg[/t] So I'm going to have to disagree.

give it chrome wheels and you've got yourself a bit of a donk, banned user [sp]jk, mr2's just look a little high for some reason[/sp]
give it chrome wheels and you've got yourself a bit of a donk, banned user [sp]jk, mr2's just look a little high for some reason[/sp]
It did when I first bought it, actually... [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/BANNED_USER/mr2web.jpg[/t] The suspension is high because it rolls on the same chassis and wheelbase as a Celica, which was an AWD car meant for rally and things, it'll get lowered in time.
I really love the way Mk1 Focus looks like. Though I am not completely sure if it should be the best car since it is rust-vulnerable.

Honda Accord is still my choice for best car as far as a daily driver goes.
I have a Focus. I like it quite a bit, but I bought a fucking two-door which is the worst decision I could have made. It's such a pain in the ass to get in the back.
to be fair, the past 25 years includes the 90s and 80s. we dont talk about cars from the 90s and 80s
Yo man, 80s and 90s Japanese cars are the shit.
That's the best car one could get to run over people actually.
I think you just uncovered MIPS' secret.
I really love the way Mk1 Focus looks like. Though I am not completely sure if it should be the best car since it is rust-vulnerable.
At my old job, I came across a 2003 Focus Wagon. There were actual holes in the hood that rusted through and a nice tetanus infection waiting to happen from the sharpened rust near the release latch. I've never seen that on a car that new.
What about the Crown Vic, guys? It's FAR better as a car than the Focus ever hoped to be. Tough enough to serve as a police cruiser, highway patrol interceptor, NYC taxicab, and yet comfortable and quiet enough to carry you around in comfort for a good price. They're fairly fuel efficient, they can actually get out of their own way, they'll last 30+ years, they'll carry the same amount of people in higher comfort, they have enough trunkspace to tote around a Fiat 500, and they look way better.
