A good trailer but for some reason I doubt the game will be fantastic. Just another passing zombie game.
i honestly cried at the trailer.
Shame they decided to focus on melee combat.
The "it's a tourist island so there aren't guns" argument doesn't really work when you counter with the simple "it isn't the middle ages, there aren't a lot of melee weapons nor are people conditioned physically for their use or trained to employ them"
You can beat someone an awful lot with a pipe or a 2x4 before you manage to physically prevent them from moving or destroy their central nervous system. Skull was designed to protect against blunt force trauma.
Huge fan of dead rising series, this is gonna be amazing.
They sure got a good cinematic team. Lets see if their game dev team is actually good.
I just went and watched the trailer in reverse, was more sad
Now someone make a version that is not in reverse
Please let the actual game look like that. That was some of the best cgi gore I've ever seen.

That made so much more sense

its a video game
I just realized you can see people wailing on zombies in the backround at the very beginning. Subtle hint to the co-op?

I'm pretty sure a lead pipe would break a person's skull.
dead rising is a sandbox game that has a story, it even has zombies to boot, so i don't see how this game having a story is a huge shocker.
not saying the game doesn't look great just saying of all things that should really not be the highlight.

Not as fast as you might think. And even once you do, you still have to hit the most well protected portion of the entire skull (when your opponent is facing you).
its a video game
They brought up logic first. I'm pointing out that it is heavily flawed logic. More flawed than firearms on a tourist island.
Basically if there is a zombie outbreak and you don't have firearms, grabbing a melee weapon would just get you killed.
Then hit them in the forehead above the nose, will collapse the nasal cavity and keep applying force, the brain.

Skull bashing expert.
Seriously, are we fucking argueing if a hit from something would kill?
Helloo?
"Basically if there is a zombie outbreak and you don't have firearms, grabbing a melee weapon would just get you killed. "
Helloooooo?
It's a video game, of course the logic is flawed. Noone cares as long as it's fun.
This is not "Zombie Outbreak Simulator"
Uh if you are smart with a melee weapon you won't get killed.
Its like that right now too. If a group of like 10 guys are trying to mug you and you have a knife you can fight them off.

Except undead corpses don't feel pain
Use Steamworks please.
will you idiots stop arguing about zombies already? i don't know why people decide to perpetuate the idea that there's really even any room for logic to be uncovered when speaking of the supernatural. it's not like they're fucking real to begin with
That trailer had balls when forwarded
That made so much more sense
WHY? The entire point was so you could see what the infection supposedly does to people but were then able to see the moments before where the father was concerned for his child and trying to protect her. Ingenious trailer ruined, well done.
I waited 5 years for some lifesigns of this game.
And now it comes with one the best and most touching trailer I have seen in the last years.
People that takes zombies too seriously makes me laugh.
But this will be a great game I bet, I can't wait.
I thought it was dead, yet it's alive :v: .
I remember reading about this few years ago, it seemed to be really cool and "realistic", as the fire could spread and stuff.
Take my money and gimme the game!
No seriously, this looks great and i have been waiting for two years.
Here is the Dead Island megathread: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1060813-Dead-Island
that was fucking beautiful
