Y'know it just occurred to me that not one person here has actually commented on the article and instead we've got a DAII/JenniferHepler hate circlejerk going on. Anyone else find that a little bad on our parts?
To actually be on topic: I think it's pretty cool that DA2, flawed though it is, gave the kid the courage to accept himself. That's not always easy to do.

Let's not get crazy now. I watched Phanom Menace recently and DAII kicks the majority of its dialogue up and down the street.

Right, like most of us didn't start playing M-rated games way before the "recommended" age. If the parents think the kid is mature enough to handle the game's content, then that's up to them. It's not like this is Saint's Row The Third we're talking about which, sadly, I had to sell to a fucking 5 year old since his parents said it was okay.
I was at my friends house and I saw her 8 year old brother playing Saints Row, so yeah.
Can't hurt to have the perspective of someone who isn't nuts about video games.
i think she proved it can
ever since dragon age 2 introduced me to felicia day i think i've become gay

She was better in New Vegas
Ugh, I really disliked Anders in DA2. I didn't like having to find the right answer for him about not having sex and still be his friend.

Woah hey, I just learned that Holly in Eureka was played by Felicia Day. I always thought the actress that played Holly was kind of cute. :v:
I also just learned that Felicia Day exists (honestly have never heard her name before).
I liked anders because he was completely fucking bonkers.

I know you're just being funny, but even with poor moments like that there was still plenty of good dialogue to be found. That one with Anders though...oewwwwwwkay.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. And boy, does DAII have a ton of weak links.
People still get their panties in a bunch over a professional writer not being an avid gamer? The vitriol directed at her when that was revealed was absolutely baffling, and quite frankly pathetic.
Surely you are joking.
I finished DAII and I didn't see anything wrong with it, I only played it for the storyline.
Lol
lol on deck. dick. I hope no one stole my quote reply.
Playing games isn't essential even if you're working in the industry, sure it can help at times and in places, but isn't neccesary, infact really, the onyl place where it is essential is QA and testing, but even then, thatd's hardly playing the game as opposed to doing a repetetive task, I know plenty of people who work in the industry who don't play games who do all sorts of roles (kinda my job to talk to loads of people in the industry, people who are at least in part, responsible for making the game, in whatever their job is). It's a profession, not a lifestyle.
In the same vein, you'd be suprised how many top notch, professional chefs have the most slapdash, basic and horrendous personal eating habits.
asshole.
this is pretty neat, though.
You don't even know why you're responding to that as if it's offensive
This is pretty neat, though.
I honestly played through about a third of dragon age 2 about a week before my writing exam. Just to get an example of what not to do and appreciate my education.
What was he doing playing in the closet? The lighting in mine is terrible.
Dragon Age II makes kids gay.

My uncle is an obscenely picky eater, and barely eats more than a dozen kinds of food (small wonder he's diabetic :v:). For an example, he can not use a knife to butter his bread if it was recently used to spread mayonnaise - even after washing it off with hot water and drying it. That's how particular he is.
Yet he is a top chef at a medium-quality restaurant (not super high quality, but not a trashy burger joint, either).

Then Gordon Ramsey walks in and says, "Do you even EAT THIS SHIT?"
"No."
Then cut to b-roll footage of two kitchen knives clashing against each other.
Roll credits.
