Oh christ.. I didn't say he "Oh he didn't make the laws", though to be fair I could have clarified. But MANY of the items on the list. Before his campaign he was "Oh, we're going to do this!" and then after he's in office it immediately changed "Well, we have more pressing matters." Sure, but that doesn't mean you need to abandon the fight for your promises. I understand Obama (or any other president for that matter) do not have full 100% control over the system of law. Largely, that is congress. But he DOES have the power to trump, block, veto, and otherwise control the ebb n flow. If you think he's completely useless and powerless, then why are you even here reading the article and debating what he has or has not done? In fact, why even consider him a figure of importance outside of anything besides a "figure head"?
You're right Obama is powerless. That's what I said. Good reading. It's pretty obvious enough of your friends and family hate Obama that you can't really have an objective discussion here. Someone already pointed out that Obama has already kept more promises than he has broken, so it's foolish think he was deliberately misleading during his election.
No he didn't. He specifically said we needed less troops in Iraq and MORE in Afghanistan. Does your memory not work?
DOES YOURS? Obama: Afghanistan troop withdrawal process to start next year 2010 for 2011. Obama announced plans to withdraw troops from Afghanistan 2012. Now, i'm not saying it is some easy feat to remove a whole force of troops who have been involved in the region for years, overnight. No. By no means. But he has made 'promise' after 'promise' but never falls into actually doing. I know what he's doing, too. He's appealing to public opinion. The public wants to hear one thing, so he's going to tell them that. But the system and situation call for an entirely different tactic. That still does not justify the lies. And to be honest, I'm not really mad at Obama in specific. I'm angry with our political system and the American public in general. People just don't give a shit anymore, especially about politics. You try and talk politics and people get offended, as if its taboo. How the fuck are we going to share ideas and sway people to your way of thinking if it's no one wants to talk about it? Edit: Whoops! Link fix.

snip whoops, wrong one. Hold on. Edit: Ah fuck it, I have to leave. Maybe i'll find another one later. But i'm judging him MORE than just his pre-presidency. Not only do I account for those promises, but the one's he continues to make as well. They're all on the same boat. Good debating with you, have a nice day gents.
Yeahhhh they aren't gonna have 10k or 1000, let alone 10 million. That's pure delusion.
Too bad his thought process will be "people are too dumb and docile to stand up for whats right and thats why they didnt show up" and not "people disagree with me and thats why they didnt show up" So he's just gonna keep going
Obama has his flaws, certainly, but he's hardly the worst President the US has ever had. The main reason that people are trying to get him impeached is because he's slightly more (and I mean slightly) liberal than they're comfortable with.
I heard about this on another forum I frequent before I saw it on FP. The thread was started by some buddy of a bunch of these folk. OP was terrified that his friends would get killed when they did something dumb. Amongst other things, there's now a Toxx in that thread that if anyone gets shot, someone has to change their handle to the cutesiest, broniest name imaginable. :v: (Link, if you want to see the hilarity: http://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/crazy-american-bloodbath-in-the-making-may-16th.298689/ )
That's an unfortunate situation your mother is in, but the ACA's failures from what I understand can be attributed largely to republican governors denying federal funding for no reason other than to make a point.
Actually, as I said, it's because my state (New Mexico) is poor as fuck.
Actually, as I said, it's because my state (New Mexico) is poor as fuck.
I guess that wasn't the case with New Mexico. Still, I think overall the ACA will do less harm than good.
The woman in that video really disgust me: It's all right to have anti-government opinions but when you use the TV-channel funded by one of the worlds worst police-state as a medium to say "Americans are lazy and don't care about freedom" you're at the peak of hypocrisy.
You seem to be forgetting that our government has (arguably) the most advanced military on the planet along with National Guard outposts all over the place, as well as plenty of highly armed police officers of varying numbers in the area. If there is any sort of clash or overthrow attempt, it won't end nicely for the civilians, and there's gonna be a lot of hurt/dead people if anything even does happen.
I was simply being snarky in pointing out that in terms of what these nutjobs care about, Obama has been incredibly accommodating. He has refused to take a hard stance on anything that would even slightly peeve the right wing and that's why they've been making shit up for the last few years.
considering how many of our ex-military leaders go on to speak against obama post-retirement, im pretty sure there would be mass desertion and mutiny if the military were ordered to start shooting US citizens. At least the more HOOAH AMERICA ones like the Army and most definitely the Marines.
