To me, Clocks is one of those classic songs that are just so listenable; feels balanced between smooth and hard.
The full list if anyone's interested (which you probably aren't but whatevs)
That isn't even the best Coldplay song imo
or the best Muse song
or the best Kanye West song
or the best Adele song
You know, it seems my opinions are very unpopular.
56 MIA - Paper Planes
97 Kelis - Milkshake
Best songs on the list
Oh fuck, Elbow's that high on a popularity list over there? Didn't really know they were all that popular like that.
Some of you should really listen to them, they're about 100,000% better than Coldplay could ever hope to be. They even had one of their songs in L4D!

Seven Nation Army's pretty high up there. Cool.
Wait... the one they chose from Florence + The Machine is that? Really? Not Cosmic Love? Not even Shake It Out, Dog Days Are Over, or No Light No Light? Really?
I'm glad to see Take Me Out is on there.
Hey Ya, too.
Mumford & Sons deserves to be way higher. Also, The Cave is great, but Little Lion Man is better.
Pumped Up Kicks. Cool.
Lonely Boy is pretty good.
Wait, Gnarls Barkley's Crazy is from the past 10 years? Really? I thought it was older than that. Hmm.
Dare is on there and not Feel Good Inc.? That doesn't feel good. *badumtish* [sub]Yes that was horrible.[/sub]
Chemical Brothers. They're cool.
Daft Punk deserves to be way higher.
Why isn't Friday on there? People just have no taste. [sub][sub]Thank fuck it isn't on there.[/sub][/sub]

best songs from coldplay imo
Honestly the only song off of Mylo Xyloto that I thought was decent is Major Minus. I never really got in to any of the other songs even after repeatedly listening to them. It just falls flat in comparison to Parachutes or Rush of Blood.
A Rush of Blood to the Head is amazing, I think. It's got to be one of my favorite albums of all time.
That's odd, because I thought the exact opposite of both Mylo Xyloto and Rush of Blood. Paradise, Charlie Brown, Princess of China, Don't Let It Break Your Heart, and Up In Flames are all great songs from MX that I'd consider some of my favorites of theirs. The only songs on Rush of Blood I really liked were Politik, Clocks, and Warning Sign. The rest seemed way too similar, with the exception of The Scientist.
I guess the new direction they went in for MX was a pretty big step, but I think it's much better than Rush of Blood.
fuck coldplay

wow these are almost ALL terrible
How can you rank Rush of Blood that high? I thought that was easily their worst album. So much of it was so forgettable. I'd say:
Parachutes
Mylo Xyloto
X&Y
Viva La Vida
A Rush of Blood to the Head
rush of blood was so good, parachutes was wicked boring
X&Y was the perfect mix of everything they've done
I prefer the less known songs tbh
shiver is one of their most well known songs lol
[editline]3rd February 2013[/editline]
also major minus best song off the new album
Does it not bother anyone else that the song, disregarding the vocals, is basically the same riff and beat all the way through with very minor adjustments? It's like they wrote that one little bit and thought "Yeah, that sounds good, lets play it for 4 minutes and call it a day."
Sometimes that's all a song really needs. I mean, it works. The singing carries most of the melody.
Coldplay is utter shit, mixing 1995-era-Radiohead-esque instantly forgettable pop-rock whining with the unabashed arena-friendly bombast and dimestore "inspirational" messages and imagery of U2, making for arguably the single most unlistenable mainstream band of the past decade whose worthless musical stylings make post-grunge pap such as Foo Fighters or even Nickelback seem positively inspired by comparison. Fuck Coldplay.
There are two types of people in the world: people who want to repeatedly punch Chris Martin in the face and Chris Martin.
I honestly have no idea what you're going on about
Sometimes that's all a song really needs. I mean, it works. The singing carries most of the melody.
It's fine if that is what you are into. Personally I find it really boring.
wow these are almost ALL terrible
that's an amazing list of music. you're wrong

I like this clock version better.
fuck coldplay

Your taste in music must be pretty bland.
Didn't Coldplay also get in trouble for using background music that was similar to another song in their music "Viva La Vida"?
Yep, Joe Satriani's If I Could Fly

Coldplay settled, too
Pretty fuckin' similar through and through, so much so that it's probably just coincidence because no one would copy someone so closely. And let's be honest, there's thousands of songs that use the same few chords in the same order, so Meh

Princess of China, Up In Flames, and Don't Let It Break Your Heart are amazing songs.
Up In Flames makes me feel sad whenever I listen to it, it might be one of my favourite songs.

Agh, I honestly can't stand Princess of China.
I saw Coldplay live last year, they have a really cool atmosphere.
Young Folks by Peter, Bjorn and John is in the top 100? Apparently people really like the Homebase adverts :v:
Also, I'm a little surprised the Kaiser Chiefs aren't in there with 'I Predict a Riot', but that must just be me...
I think Yellow is my favorite song by Coldplay, with Clocks in a close second.
My favorite cover of Yellow:

No one posting The Scientist? Guess I'm alone.
Wow, thanks a lot guys, if I wasn't backed up enough in my, "Music I gotta listen to" list, you fuckers had to add Coldplay to it.
also The Arctic Monkeys...
Heh, didnt expect the final 100 to be that varied
Some really good songs in there
Has speed of sound not been mentioned once in this thread?

One of my favourites.
Doesn't surprise me. I've heard this one pretty much all my life.
TV channels and radio stations still play this regularly, whether it's just for the sake of the music, or to accompany a programme.
