They get credited because they market their stuff as being "original" so heavily.
Although I must say they did a huge part in making tablets big. My dad had a tablet PC for years before the iPad and pretty much nobody else did. As soon as the iPad came out all the companies started making tablets and they became mainstream.
Steve's manifest destiny is total global product control of the market. It does still strike me that when he dies, we still have no idea what the world will do.
I know one thing for sure, the day he dies is when Apple's stock falls drastically.
Cant wait for my iphone contract to end, the new htc phones look awesome. Toss up between Desire S and incredible S. Which one?
It does still strike me that when he dies, we still have no idea what the world will do.
The new model, Steve Jobs 3G, will come out. Then the Steve Jobs 3GS.
The new model, Steve Jobs 3G, will come out. Then the Steve Jobs 3GS.
Don't forget the Steve Jobs 4. and the white edition.
Don't forget the Steve Jobs 4. and the white edition.
Nah, the wonderful Steve Jobs 9/9/9 will die and be replaced by some shitty 3/3/3 CEO. Watch as Apple gets to play 'whack-a-rebel' of the corporate world.
You know the day old Steve dies, Apple is going to announce the iPreserve, the 'first ever fully functioning machine that stops the aging process, and even reverses it!' And by Apple, I mean Steve himself, at his funeral. Just picture him rising out of his coffin.

I replaced my iPhone with an HTC inspire. Best $100 investment I've ever made. iPhone was a piece of shit.
Nokia made the first ever Smartphone did they not? [editline]13th July 2011[/editline] Wait, nope that was IBM. Some company in Sweden made the MTA in 1960, but that was a mobile rig that was installed in a car, not a mobile phone. But the USSR army already had their own system in 1958. Then again, the first private commercialized mobile phone network was the ARP network in Finland. Other stuff: In 1973, the first mobile phone call was done in public in USA. In 1991, the first mobile phone call in a GSM network (which people still use today) was done in public in Finland. Oh and here's a video of the first GSM call.
iPhone was a piece of shit.
iPhone itself isn't shit. Its hardware is quite good, but it's the awful proprietary software that's bottlenecking it, and preventing me from wanting to buy one.
Oh boy, another one of these threads. Steve jobs reminds me of this guy:
Am I the only one who prefers iPhones over HTC just because of simply liking the phone? I still reccomend HTC for everyone, but I personally just can't stand the Android OS.
Oh and here's a video of the first GSM call.
Wow, the first GSM cellphone comes with a free car!
I own an iPhone but I still think Apple are a bunch of cocks for even trying stuff like this.
I've never even had an apple product, but I must say the Droid Incredible 2 lives up to its name.
Smart phone, not mobile phone. Those phones only did voice calls, and eventualy texts.
You posted an image of a mobile phone, I assumed you made a mistake.
For fucks sake will you learn how to post articles without somehow copying the hyperlink into your sentence. It's driving me insane. And only you do it. But really I find this hilarious.
You posted an image of a mobile phone, I assumed you made a mistake.
Have a read up on the IBM simon, its features are very impressive considering its age.
Humm, I may of just had a really bad experience with my android phone but I really cant stand it, As much as I love open software and android it self, Android seems to be let down by the makers of the phones. The issue is that when you buy a android phone it is not pure android and it will be bundled with stuff like pre installed apps and a different interface etc, And in my experience (X10 Mini, HTC Desire) this software is good but is riddled with issues, and at times I just want to go back to pure android but the makers of the phones wont let the user have access to the OS of the phone that they bought, it almost turned into the same thing with apple. You have to over come its security just to simply do what you want to do with the phone, and in my experience I could not put it back to android. I loved the idea of android and I really did but I have issues with it and it almost turned into the same issues I had with apple, The software became locked down (And I know that android is still alot more flexible in this term than iOS) Another point I would like to think over is the different app markets, Now android's is good and has apple's that will never be in iOS but at the same time I think that Google needs to learn a few tricks off apple in that place too, That android market is almost too open IMO and it is too easy for a app to get on there and hence you have app's that are buggy or don't work or even worse, are malicious (http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/00002202.html) and while I will admit that iOS can suffer from the same issue that it does not seem to be a large issue and alot of the exploits that have been found in iOS have not been used to make a virus or other malicious software for the platform ( If I am wrong in this case then please correct me) This does point out the need to review apps before they are put out, and this is something that in my opinion apple is doing a good job with, I will comment however that the apple process is too strict and needs to loosen up. Overall I wish that the two major platforms (Android and iOS) could find some middle ground because I really like the openness of android however I had to give it up because I found it a victim of its own openness. I would like to see some more openness in apple's iOS. Overall Im not saying to stop/start using android phones or a iPhone but I will warn on who is buying android phones is that it is not a perfect platform by far, there are good apps on there but there are too many of the same. But the upmost importance when looking for a android phone is to look at its interface that comes with it, Mine came with Xperia and I fucking hated it and hated that fact I could not get away from it You can do some steps to getting away from the interface but it is always running and will some way or another slow down your phone and make the experience a frustrating one. This was the reason at the end of the day that I went and got my self a old iPhone 3g, Even though I usually avoid apple products I felt that my phone had too many issues with it being a phone. Im not saying that apple have done this better but I feel like its a improvement. I hope to get back on the android way when I get enough money to buy a Nexus S or One, This will be the only android phone I would ever show off because it is pure. And you wont feel left out when a new android update comes out. Anyway, Just my very long winded 2 cents on the whole iOS vs Android.
iPhone itself isn't shit. Its hardware is quite good, but it's the awful proprietary software that's bottlenecking it, and preventing me from wanting to buy one.
No even the hardware isn't that good. The iPhone 4 is already outdated. It has been for a while. Almost all newer phones coming out have dual core processors, 8MP cameras capable of 1080p high definition video capture, more RAM/ROM, and interchangeable memory The iPhone 4 has been obsolete for a while, and there are rumours that the iPhone 5 will be outdated when it's released by phones that have already been out a half a year or more prior. With phones like the HTC Sensation, the Motorola Atrix, LG G2X, HTC Evo 3D, and others out and more coming out (HTC MyTouch 4G Slide) it'd be no big surprise if Apple's arrogance in their brand loyalty would be their downfall. Hell, last quarter of last year Android market shares were leading Apple by 5%. And that was a near 19% jump from what they were the previous year. Imagine what Apple's shares will look like in first or second quarter of 2011.

Up untill that happens root and flash a ROM. Most of the time a far more stable, faster and easier on the battery version of Android is available than what your manufacturer would give you. A 2MP sensor can do that. It's all related to how fast the cpu can process the images. Also weren't you the guy who said a 1.2GHz cortex A8 dual core was that same as a 2.4GHz Cortex A8 single core? And that a 1GHz dual core A9 was slower than a 1.2GHz dual core A8? Perhaps someone else should be doing the spec lessons here.
Fuck yes. Maybe if ol' Apple gets enough peer pressure from rivals they will learn. Oh who am I kidding.

When Steve dies they're going to store his intelligence and personality into a machine.
