Intelligence Officials: Russians may have Compromising Information on Trump
820 replies, posted
I still don't understand the "fooled liberal media narrative". Most news sites are not saying it's real or fake, they're simply reporting what Intel Officials have reported.
The only people who could be fooled here are those Intel Officials
It's so obvious fake that I don't understand how people are actually believing in it
There is no evidence pointing towards it being fake or true
Anyone claiming it's obviously fake uses anonymous 4chan users as a source or are literally just trusting their gut instinct. Anyone claiming it's real similarly have no proof.
4chan is still not a good source.
When it's rumored that they are behind it, 4chan is the best source on their side.
I mean 4chan likes claiming it's the one behind multiple things sure, but a lot of the time they are behind it.
This isn't too far out of 4chan's reach, they managed to convince America that there was a bomb in 7 Stadiums in different states of America.
Any source is biased, the Media is biased, why should we ignore some news sites if they don't align to our beliefs?
We should only ignore them if the journalistic ethics aren't being upheld and the stories they produce aren't true at all.
It's still up in the air for 4chan being behind it, sure, but it's not impossible.
Even if CNN actually reported on the claims that 4chan is behind it and provided sources to their sites, I assure you that none of you will listen to it due to the source being from 4chan.
Look, I could be wrong, maybe it's all legit, but dismissing sources and possible evidence because they come from questionable sites is dumb.
4chan is still not a good source.
When the literal source of a misinformation campaign is 4chan and you have access to archives that prove that fact.. Yes it is? lmao

It's like you're not even thinking, just following a script of pre-written replies.
"I'm gonna hold off until BuzzFeed tells me what is true or not. Come on guys!"
Trump will probably lose no matter what happens in this situation.

When will it end? Who took the piss?

why should I trust an anonymous imageboard full of jerkoffs who need to get out more.
I mean pot calling the kettle black here because facepunch is basically the same thing. But people aren't giving facepunch any legitimacy like some people are giving 4chan.
I don't care if it's real or not, because no matter what happens, Trump loses in this situation. That's a good thing.
if shit like pizzagate won trump the election, then who knows what kind of damage this could have.
I don't care if it's real or not, because no matter what happens, Trump loses in this situation. That's a good thing.
If it's fake, we lose when Trump becomes even more capable of deflecting from any legitimate controversies under the guise of "liberal bias/fake news" and Breitbart, InfoWars, /r/TheDonald, 4Chan's anon board, etc eat it all up.
You guys are pathetic if you think this is a good thing and ever complain about fake news in the future here on out.

"Fake news is the scourge of our Democracy.. By far the greatest threat to our freedom and society at large in this era of misinformation and blatantly false propaganda!"
"Haha, Trump made a pee pee? Good enough for me! :)"

Why should you trust the Media when they lied throughout the entirety of 2016's election, even going so far to fake the Polls?
Besides that, 4chan is rumored to be behind this, so having evidence from 4chan makes sense considering they may possibly be behind it all.
There is no way to outright confirm if 4chan is behind it's straight from their mouths.
Every news report has to go to the source, 4chan is the source, so if it's fake, 4chan will be the source, will you still not believe it because it is 4chan?

Conservatives didn't seem to care too much about fake news on their side when the birther movement was a thing.
You guys are pathetic if you think this is a good thing and ever complain about fake news in the future here on out.
I mean, if it was the other way around, you'd love it, but it's Trump which you'd hate.
I personally don't think this shit is real, but boy it sure is something interesting to watch.
You guys are pathetic if you think this is a good thing and ever complain about fake news in the future here on out.
I'm more laughing about people thinking this is a good thing. It's like a huge tsunami is about to hit the white house and people are cheering that it'll hit Trump, but don't realize that the tsunami will hit them too and hugely affect them.
The comparison of this to fake news is ridiculous.
The news is legit, but is about unsubstantiated claims.
Not a single serious journalist is saying that anything involving piss actually happened.
It's saying it is false is just as dumb as saying it is true. We don't know.

You ever see me supporting Pizzagate like a moron on here?
Cause it's basically the same thing with how outlandish and hurtful it makes the DNC look.

I have no idea what the fuck is gonna happen next but goddamn am I gonna enjoy this roller coaster.
The thing that amazes me after reading this thread is the simple reflection that, even if this stuff is true, which I doubt, stuff that Trump has already been proven to have done is a hell of a lot worse. Kink shaming is a pretty poor scandal, after all. The fact that the guy is arguably a sexual predator, is surrounding himself with corporate oligarchs, has financial connections to Putin's inner circle through his overseas businesses, all of this stuff has been established already, was established long before he was elected, and somehow he won anyway. It means either that too many Americans are irredeemably stupid, that the Russian influence on the election was greater than any of us are willing to believe, or that the right wing in the United States no longer cares for the principles upon which the nation was founded, and approves of Trump's corruption. I'm not really sure which is worse.

The same dumb logic people use to justify Pizzagate right how but now from the other side.

I must apologize. I've only been going off what you've found humorous or silly in threads the past few months.
To be honest, I thought this is something you'd laugh at considering how outlandish it is.

Pizzagate had nothing to do with intelligence officials and came out of nowhere.
It led a man to bring a gun to a pizza shop.
This is nothing like Pizzagate, even if it turns out to be completely false.
So apparently this was a thing going around:

I'm already enjoying this different roller coaster in which I call Brazil and it's corruption, I probably won't really mind any problems on the US unless it affects people on a global scale
The same dumb logic people use to justify Pizzagate right how but now from the other side.
I would like to see where any sort of major news outlet received an even potentially credible if unsubstantiated document that supports Pizzagate.
This is a dumb situation but it isn't equivalent to anything; it's not some sort of game where both sides are in some kind of yin-yang setup.

It is ridiculously outlandish, and I do find it funny.
But come on, I will call out the retards here who are like, "Well who cares if it's fake, makes Trump look bad." So unhealthy regardless on which side you are on.

The similarities in the amount of faith you have to put into a outlandish claim makes it extremely similar.
Doesn't really matter the specifics since everything is unconfirmed, but this is conspiracy whether you like it or not.

This kind of ironic considering the people on 4chan are just anonymous we don't know, and there is no evidence they hoaxed it. They are CLAIMING they hoaxed it. We have no idea where the Intel Officials got their information.
Nobody here cares what Buzzfeed has to say unless they have any facts or evidence.
What the hell is wrong with people here claiming this is fake and blaming "liberal news sites"? They're reporting what Intel Officials said AND mentioning that that what they said is currently unsubstantiated. They're not declaring these facts or hoaxes because there are no CREDIBLE sources to decide that.
Seriously you guys are mocking everyone here for apparently believing this is 100% true when the majority of the people here are saying "I dont know if this is true" and then ironically putting your faith in 4chan posters

If I gave that impression, apologies. I personally don't think anything of it other than the fact the scenario is hilarious. I mean, Trump's had worse accusations and things that were actually proven true but it didn't stop his steam. This is essentially just entertainment value unless more information comes out.
You ever see me supporting Pizzagate like a moron on here?

I feel like the Republicans should treat this with the same skepticism they treated Clinton's emails with.

I never said I was putting faith in the claim. I am saying that the claim is unsubstantiated and, as long as it comes from sources journalists trust, it can be made into a story with a very big caveat. Every good news site I've seen includes the caveat of the claims being unsubstantiated.
I don't have any particular love for Jake Tapper, but he's not done anything wrong and I have no reason to believe he would put our a story from sources (ie people in the intelligence community) he does not trust.
There's no conspiracy here. Just journalists publishing a story about something that could be true.
