Absolutely. There is no starvation in the Gaza Strip - and the excerpt doesn't say there is.
Try again.
Also, if you take a map and actually look at the region, you may see that GZ shares a border with Egypt - which Hamas wasn't at war with at that time.
The continuing Israeli military blockade of the Gaza Strip exacerbated an already dire humanitarian situation, health and sanitation problems, poverty and malnutrition for the 1.5 million residents.
This literally was in the first sentence.
You don't really know what starvation is, now do you?
You don't really know what starvation is, now do you?

Starvation is a severe reduction in vitamin, nutrient and energy intake.
By the way, does the requirements of you accepting the Gaza strip as a humanitarian crisis seriously entail seeing people lying around emaciated, and not the bombings of countless Palestinian civilians, the blockades which often deny medical supplies to those who need it?
So, as I said - people do not starve. Naturally, in situation of war, especially in war in an area so dense and so urban like the Gaza Strip, people don't always get the basic resources. Claiming that Israel purposely 'starves' the Palestinians in the GS is absurd. Israel, and International Aid agencies in Israel, provide lots of the food in GS, as well as the fuel and electricity. Gaza Strip lives on Israel's aid.

International aid provides for 80% of the population, not Israel. Not to mention that Israel is actively hindering efforts to help these people:
Shortages of most basic necessities fuelled price increases, causing some 80 per cent of the population to become dependent on international assistance.

UN and other aid and humanitarian organizations faced additional restrictions which hindered their ability to provide assistance and services to Gaza’s people and increased their operational costs.
(The Amnesty International report again, 2009)
[editline]30th May 2011[/editline]
By the way, I am sensing a massive shifting the goalposts thing here. First, you want proof that people in the Gaza Strip are being both persecuted and starved to prove this a humanitarian crisis.. Then, you drop the persecuted thing, and demand to see that these people are truly emaciated, ignoring a lack of other major resources to prove this a humanitarian crisis.. Then, you want to know why it's so important that these people get these resources in a time of war, also conveniently ignoring the fact that innocent civilians are killed or injured in scores due to indiscriminate artillery fire or illegal white phosphorus attacks to prove this a humanitarian crisis.
I dropped the persecution thing because I thought you dropped it. I didn't see any mentions of persecutions. Uh, and again, there is not starvation in Gaza Strip, nor persecution.

Ok, unless Amnesty International is somehow spectacularly wrong in it's evaluation of the human rights situation in the Gaza Strip, then I have no clue what mental gymnastics you are pulling off to say that it's relatively fine over there.

You have to be fucking blind to not notice rampant persecution and racism among Israelis for not just Palestinians, Arabs in general. Including their fellow Arabic Israelis.
Yay
Even in Tel Aviv, the more Leftist city, I saw pretty vicious racism and intolerance among Arabs.
http://www.haaretz.com/news/civil-rights-group-israel-has-reached-new-heights-of-racism-1.234831 This is a rising issue, you LIVE there.

Did you really need to post that?
it's retarded to argue against someone who is biased like fuck like CaptainHOE. You won't get anywhere.
also yeah, Israelis are SO not racist and don't persecute anyone at ALL

I'm not taking a side but I don't think one piece of graffiti can accurately represent the views of an entire country

Where do you see persecution?
Kai-ryuuu, the graffiti is credited with JDL. If you'll google, you'll see it's an American organization.

you see the persecution in the gaza strip and west bank where the israelis systematically take their land and starve them
:geno: is this really difficult for you to grasp

Oh my god Graffiti in Israel? They are such a bunch of Racist.
This Graffiti is even worse then that new Syrian sniper video that kills protestors and reporters. But we shouldn't hate Syria, we need to focus all our hate on Israel since they are trying to protect themselves.

No, I don't see any persecution, nor starvation. You are just pulling things out of your arse.
To persecute:
to harass or punish in a manner designed to injure, grieve, or afflict; specifically : to cause to suffer because of belief
Persecution:
the act or practice of persecuting especially those who differ in origin, religion, or social outlook
Israel doesn't have a policy of persecuting anyone. Dealwithit.

Don't bother, it's you me and few more guys against the whole forum when it comes to Israel-related discussions.

You're swallowing everything the internet and media feeds you son? yes, yes you do.
I'm not gonna bother arguing with someone who's speaking like his stating facts when this is actually debatable and there are no real facts, specially not for an american 16year old kid.
Shut the fuck up with the double standards. Just like Americans can discuss American-related issues without being accused of being biased - and that's what 90% of this forum does - Israelis can discuss Israeli-related subject. Fuck off with that retarded reasoning.
And, again - no, Israel doesn't persecute shit.
P.S. iirc, Moaz isn't Israeli?

No I just have an Israel flag down there, to the left.

yea they do
and im not saying you cant discuss it, im saying you have a bias towards your government
americans are the same way, we have a certain bias that can often cloud our ability to accurately judge what our country is doing
Didn't you say you're a foreigner who moved to Israel? Hmmm... my memory betrayed me!

So, just because I disagree with you, and also happen to have some positions who are the same as the Israeli government, mean I'm biased in such a degree it's really hopeless? How convenient. And for the record, everyone is biased - towards something.
No I just have an Israel flag down there, to the left.
why
Didn't you say you're a foreigner who moved to Israel? Hmmm... my memory betrayed me!
Ah, yes, yes I am. I'm living here for 13 years and counting, I consider myself Israeli just like everyone else.
[editline]30th May 2011[/editline]
yawn, trust me - we hate our government as much as you do, but we're not gonna throw shit at the people who defend us, we're on the same boat and it's gonna stay like this for awhile.
