She's was an incredible singer, really one of the best of our generation. Listen to this,
Huh, guess she's better than I thought. Still a drug addled whore, though.
Why was she a 'whore'?
because he hates women
Ah fuck, wrong source. But dont worry, she is dead. Just heard it in the news.
Yeah, phew, don't worry, she really is dead :v:
Luckily I saw her live before she died, she was great. Damn shame she's dead.
Probably been posted, but I dont want to search 9 threads looking for the link http://www.whenwillamywinehousedie.com/ Every joke made at her expense is now INSTANTLY in bad taste.
She dies when Norway is in a crisis.. Any other day I would give a fuck, but I think most of us are looking towards Norway now. She make ok music before all the drugs.
honestly one of the most talented musicians of our generation. :(
Yeah, she probably had another great album in her.
At least Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison had talent
"Amy Winehouse is making music which I don't like, therefore she doesn't have talent." great logic right there.
Three things. First of all, I feel bad about any death. I didn't really follow her, her music or anything, but I liked some of her songs. I guess that because I knew her just a little bit more than most people who die everyday, makes it a little worse. I'm not really sad about it, but it's something that could be avoided, specially since it was probably drugs that killed her. Secondly, I don't think jokes are really the worst thing to be angry about in this thread. It's people saying "Oh, she deserved that" that is the worst thing. I am of the opinion jokes can be made about anything. Some people use them to cope or to get something good out a situation, and as long as you don't hurt anyone intentionally, it really shouldn't matter what you say. If you're not phoning her parents saying "Hahah, your daughter should have went to rehab, but she didn't go go go", then do as you like. Everyone here on this forum can take a joke, I hope, and we also have the option of saying "That's some unfunny shit, you asshole". Of course, even to strangers, we should still have respect for any human being. Thirdly, the 27 Club is shite. Loads of good musicians die, maybe if I went to the trouble of making a list with every single one of those deaths I'd find ages with more musician deaths than 27. It's coincidence, there's no conspiracy, think about it how you like, but I'm just throwing my opinion here.
At least Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Jim Morrison had talent
Okay, so, she deserved to die because YOU didn't find she had any talent. And Kurt Cobain had more talent than Amy Winehouse? That's a tragic things to say.
I've never properly listened to her songs before (obv I've heard a few) and I've only heard about her from the drugs stuff, but now that I listen to her songs they're damn good
wow I bet you're a blast to be around I feel sad that she died and so should you. whether or not you like her music means nothing [editline]1[/editline] once you go through puberty you'll begin to realise that it's okay to be sad
Why should he be sad? He doesn't know her. If he doesn't like her music, then she means nothing to him. And why should she? Just because she's been in the media? There are a lot more people to feel sad about dying, like the thousands of African children who starve to death daily, than some alcoholic junkie who had a hit song. [editline]24th July 2011[/editline]
Okay, so, she deserved to die because YOU didn't find she had any talent. And Kurt Cobain had more talent than Amy Winehouse? That's a tragic things to say.
No one deserves to die but if you're abusing substances like that, you asked for it.
Nobody cared about her yesteday, everybody will care about her today and nobody will care tomorrow.
Nobody cared about her yesteday, everybody will care about her today and nobody will care tomorrow.
but she died yesterday
but she died yesterday
Well then nobody cares. If you're going to rate me dumb immediately after I post, the least you can do is respond.
but she died yesterday
Missing the point here/
I care.
My dad told me he is also at the 27 club. [sp]He got married at 27 years old.[/sp]
No one deserves to die but if you're abusing substances like that, you asked for it.
You don't clearly understand how hard it is to quit using addictive substances. It is difficult physically and mentally. Until you have an experience of drug addiction, don't say anything about it.
Welcome to the 27 club Ms. Winehouse(as she enters the pearly gates)
Okay excuse me but I don't think she is in any way worthy to be in the same "club" as Hendrix, Morrison and Cobain. They are INFLUENTIAL musicians who died at the age of 27. Her music was hardly influential.
Okay, so, she deserved to die because YOU didn't find she had any talent. And Kurt Cobain had more talent than Amy Winehouse? That's a tragic things to say.
Not really. She wrote very little of her material. She was an out of control mouthpiece, pretty much literally. Her parents and friends always supported her, they never neglected or abused here, she lived a "hard" life towards the end because she chose to. In no way shape or form does she compare to Cobain or Hendrix. She didn't create the genre she sang in, and she didn't innovate the format. "Good" and "Legendary" are not even close to the same thing.

A lot of people connect to Amy Winehouse's music a lot more than they connect to Kurt Cobain or Jimi Hendrix's.
Who's Amy Winehouse? I did a quick search on google for pictures of her but still didn't recognize her, I then looked up her name on youtube and found no songs I really remembered.
yeah, ok a young woman is dead. but i have no sympathy for people who stuff their faces and arms with drugs. it's been ovious for years that this is how she was going to end up. people helped her all the time. getting her to rehab. getting her help. but she went back to drugs. no surprise at the end result
Who's Amy Winehouse? I did a quick search on google for pictures of her but still didn't recognize her, I then looked up her name on youtube and found no songs I really remembered.
I only really knew her because I heard that she was all fucked up on drugs and stuff.
