A lot of people connect to Amy Winehouse's music a lot more than they connect to Kurt Cobain or Jimi Hendrix's.
What.... I'm fairly sure more people have heard of Cobain and Hendrix.
yeah, ok a young woman is dead. but i have no sympathy for people who stuff their faces and arms with drugs. it's been ovious for years that this is how she was going to end up. people helped her all the time. getting her to rehab. getting her help. but she went back to drugs. no surprise at the end result
It was not the drugs, she inflicted it upon herself by using them at the wrong time and in the wrong ways and possibly being unaware of the quality of her source. If drugs were regulated and available to purchase labelled with information about potency and dosage without filler mixed in this would probably not have happened. Do you actually realise how hard addiction is to overcome let alone when you are using the substance to attempt to battle the pressures of something like fame combined with hopelessness and dissociative or unwanted mind states? Addiction is a disease. It is her that is at fault, not the drugs. She behaved irresponsibly and paid for it and I say that with no animosity towards her. I do not like her music myself but she made a lot of people happy with her creative output and it is a shame that that has had to end. People are responsible and accountable for their own consensual acts, the substance on it's own does not have it's own mind or judgement.
Am I a bad person for not caring because she probably just ODed on something?
Am I a bad person for not caring because she probably just ODed on something?
yes, you are.
Every joke made at her expense is now INSTANTLY in bad taste.
Yes but it was totally cool to crack thousands of jokes when Michael Jackson died, Facepunch.
I know many people hated her, but I really think she was pretty talented.
I never knew anything about her in life, so if I don't care about what she did I also do not really care about her death. Pretty soon this whole thing will die down. Anybody who disagrees with me, do you still remember Steve Irwin?
Am I a bad person for not caring because she probably just ODed on something?
maybe not a bad person, but 12 years old? probably
You don't clearly understand how hard it is to quit using addictive substances. It is difficult physically and mentally. Until you have an experience of drug addiction, don't say anything about it.
Uh, yes, I do, that's why I don't abuse drugs and instead use them in moderation.
Uh, yes, I do, that's why I don't abuse drugs and instead use them in moderation.
you just contradicted yourself in the same fucking sentence using drugs in moderation is different than abusing them
you just contradicted yourself in the same fucking sentence using drugs in moderation is different than abusing them
Uhhhh.. maybe you should reread it. No bad reading so have a late I guess
What.... I'm fairly sure more people have heard of Cobain and Hendrix.
I don't mean there are more fans of Winehouse than there are of Cobain and Hendrix, I'm saying that some people like her music more than they like Cobain's or Hendrix's, so although some of you guys don't like her music, she still has a fan base of people who appreciate and connect to her music. Even if she wasn't special to a lot of you, she was special to others.
Maybe celebrities fake their deaths sometimes
maybe not a bad person, but 12 years old? probably
You may not be a bad person, but silly.
You don't clearly understand how hard it is to quit using addictive substances. It is difficult physically and mentally. Until you have an experience of drug addiction, don't say anything about it.
She started taking them in the first place, no one gives a shit how hard it is to quit, it's that she was dumb enough to begin doing drugs like that.
She started taking them in the first place, no one gives a shit how hard it is to quit, it's that she was dumb enough to begin doing drugs like that.
doing drugs =/= dumb
Deciding to take drugs makes you dumb? Tell that to most leading physicists and astronomers. She may have looked like a crack whore but that does not excuse you from disrespecting someone who gave their talent to society and died in the process.
Anybody who disagrees with me, do you still remember Steve Irwin?
Wow, honestly? You can't just forget someone like Steve Irwin.
She started taking them in the first place, no one gives a shit how hard it is to quit, it's that she was dumb enough to begin doing drugs like that.
wow, someone decided to have some fun? what a moron!
no one gives a shit how hard it is to quit
people that actually understand addiction and the psychology behind it do. it's quite clear that you are a fucking idiot who thinks it's as simple as "don't do drugs in the first place!"
wow, someone decided to have some fun? what a moron! people that actually understand addiction and the psychology behind it do. it's quite clear that you are a fucking idiot who thinks it's as simple as "don't do drugs in the first place!"
What if someone finds Russian Roulette fun? Oh and uh.. it is that easy. Don't want to be an addict, don't do drugs. You don't just become a drug addict magically.
Wow, honestly? You can't just forget someone like Steve Irwin.
I have, and I am sure plenty of people don't remember him until his name pops up one day randomly in some place.
Oh and uh.. it is that easy. Don't want to be an addict, don't do drugs. You don't just become a drug addict magically.
it's not that fucking simple do you understand anything about sociology, psychology, etc.? you can't solve drug addiction by saying "just don't start doing drugs then." people like to have fun, and drinking/taking drugs is fun for many people. telling them to just refrain from it is like telling people to just not have sex if they don't want to get STDs or pregnant come back to reality please
come back to reality please
Sorry but mom's house doesn't offer much of that.
Sorry but mom's house doesn't offer much of that.
I own my own house, thanks.
Can't say I didn't see it coming. You shall be missed Amy.
She may have looked like a crack whore but that does not excuse you from disrespecting someone who gave their talent to society and died in the process.
So she died because of how hard it was to give her talent to society? She died from her own persona choices and her talent or skills have nothing to do with it. Regardless of whatever spin you give she brought her own death.
I have, and I am sure plenty of people don't remember him until his name pops up one day randomly in some place.
Honestly? No. I still remember Steve Irwin; I remember a lot of people from my childhood, even if they're dead, such as Mr. Rogers. I don't forget people like that once they've died.
doing drugs =/= dumb
Abusing a substance = dumb
You hit that head on Mio Akiyama. There is a big difference between use and abuse
If they cremate her, everyone in a five mile radius will get high for a week.
