You can never be 100% certain of anything, but since plenty of people die from it, I think it's safe to say that it's pretty fucking harmful.
Plenty of people die from alcohol. ban alcohol. I really do hope people like you don't get into politics, for the sake of the next generation.
Plenty of people die from alcohol. ban alcohol.
It takes a hell of a lot more alcohol to get addicted than it does to get addicted to heroin.
its possible to use drugs responsibly and many people do, unfortunately things happen and people become dependent. Are you saying everyone who tries a possibly addictive substance deserves to die?
People who are substance abusers shouldn't be surprised when their life is a mess and they are at deaths door. I can tell by your avatar that you are already biased on the side of illegal drug use, so I doubt anything anyone will say will persuade that this was not a tragedy and should not be mourned in any great fashion. In my opinion, she was dead from the moment she lit that first spliff, or snorted that first line.
I sincerely doubt you two have had direct contact with heavy drug users. It's not people that are in perfect control of their lives, but usually - not always - use drugs as a relief for their problems. It's a safe place where they can go and forget about their - again - usually troubled lives. The exception is when it's a bunch of rich idiots that do it for fun but end up fucking up because, as already stated, they are idiots. I've seen 9-year-olds die from crack OD, don't come to my face and tell me they knew exactly where they were going and why they were going. People that reach this level of drug abuse are very often psychologically destroyed. People just lose control of their lives with this kind of shit, dudes. They often aren't conscious of the consequences.
I understand people in extreme poverty, or someone going through some traumatic experience doing drugs, but that doesn't excuse it. Hitler killing 6 million jews is understandable because he thought he was bettering the human race, it isn't excusable though. Winehouse was nothing more than a fool, she had no reason to do drugs, and she certainly had no excuse.

Your avatar is at least relevant to the discussion, and it shows that you already have a clear bias. The fact that I watch a certain TV show says nothing about my views on drug use. And I did not say that anyone who does drugs is going to die of it, I said that people, in my opinion are considered dead from the moment they take it up. Who knows, they may turn their life around, and get clean. Deaths through drug abuse should not be classed as particularly sad, or surprising.
How the hell is believing drugs are harmful right wing?
Being strongly anti-drug is conservative, plus, you are expressly right-wing. So yeah, you're pretty much the bottom of the barrel for humanity.
See, I can judge you on the stuff you like to do aswell, does it feel good?
It. Is. A. Television. Show. Misinformed is something that fits you better than me in this case, though if you are simple enough to judge someone as dead from the moment they first watched a TV show, as far as I'm concerned, your opinion is no more valid than Michelle Bachman's.
I'm sorry, I tried not to be mean, but, the fact that you watch MLP, kind of makes you lose all your credibility, when it comes to real life stuff.
Grown men who watch cartoon ponies are number one in opinions about what people should do on their own time, didn't you know?
I'm sorry, I tried not to be mean, but, the fact that you watch MLP, kind of makes you lose all your credibility, when it comes to real life stuff.
How so? How does a TV show reflect on any aspect of a person, other than their opinion of aforementioned TV show?
It. Is. A. Television. Show.
It's still pretty fucking pathetic.

Who?

People develop addictions because their life is a mess, because they have deep psychological problems that they don't know how to/cant get help for. And no, I don't think anyone is surprised, and I'm positive she knew it would happen eventually, but that doesn't make it any less of a tragedy. I like how you think that someone who uses marijuana advocates the use of drugs that are actually addictive though. It's cute. And no, no one is dead from the first use of drugs. If that were true, everyone who ever attended a university would be dead. Stop making yourself look ignorant.
Plenty of people die from alcohol. ban alcohol. I really do hope people like you don't get into politics, for the sake of the next generation.
And water. And unhealthy foods. And heat waves. And overexercise. And prescription medications. But they all had it coming too, according to half the people in this thread.
His point is that it is her fault that she allowed herself to get to the point where addiction was a risk. You don't need to be a genius to work out that doing drugs = addiction = death, hence the lack of sympathy.
Allow herself? Once again, you don't understand addiction. People aren't addicts because they want to be addicts. They don't wake up one day and say "Hey, I'd like to be a crack addict." There are many underlying problems, hidden factors that you're completely ignoring because "durr hurr drugs are bad." Do yourself a favor and educate yourself on the theories and process of addiction before you make another uninformed, ignorant post in this thread.
Get out troll
I don't troll, I express my opinion, and frankly, I'm man enough to admit that despite the petty nature of the arguments regarding MLP, I'm getting destroyed here, and I've run out of points to make. Y'all win. Though I still don't consider this case to be sad.
Bummer, I guess there's a new member to the 27 club
Two hours and six pages, you lot sure do like talking about topics as meaningless as celebrity death.
Wow.... poor family this is so horrible
Being strongly anti-drug is conservative, plus, you are expressly right-wing. So yeah, you're pretty much the bottom of the barrel for humanity.
In what way am I expressly right wing

unfortunately this seems to have turned into a debate, although i think we should return to the tragic event this thread is based on, please.
Honestly, she lasted longer than I tought
Poor woman. I feel geniunly sorry for her. She was incredibly talented. Still a dumb bitch.
