• Islamic State militants execute Japanese hostages Kenji Goto Jogo and Haruna Yukawa

You know, I remember hearing about when that delusional military nut Haruna Yukawa got captured. I remember kinda laughing and feeling some what bad for him. It actually kinda made me sad to see that he got executed. Idk, I guess I view him as innocent in a way. He was trying to live out some inner childlike fantasy of being a soldier, and instead of coming home a week or so later and rethinking his life like I thought he would, he ends up getting captured, tortured and beheaded. I don't know, just seems really messed up to me. It's the same feeling I'd get when I watch some guy get up on stage at a talent show and try to sing but get booed and laughed off stage. Probably a bad simile considering he got brutally murdered, but you know what I mean.
They're trying to bait Western forces into putting boots on the ground so they can play up the noble martyr angle. This is also why they threatened the life of the Pope. They're desperate for an enemy actually consisting of "infidels". Getting droned and sniped and having their asses kicked by the Kurds isn't exactly the glorious martyrdom they signed up for, I think.
Then one way to really piss them off is to give the Kurds logistical and fire support. But after IS is dealt with, after it ultimately fractures and splinters, how will the newfound might of the militaries of Iran, Iraq etc affect the power balance? I'm pretty sure most of you haven't forgotten what a huge threat we were all saying Iran was a year and a half ago, and now we're cheering them on. Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.
iirc, during the 2003 invasion, they were overseas but completely behind the lines as medics and engineers.
Base guards too i think.
Anyway, I for one am entirely for a Japanese military that has unconditional autonomy. I think they're past the imperial and colonial mindset now.
They just want to provoke every single damn country in this world.
They're doing a good job. But if Grimhound's right, and this war with the Kurds is eroding the morale of their ranks, I hope no other country takes a bigger role in the fray just yet.
1 of the hostage apparently killed, the other is still left alive, with a demand made to swap with a attempted suicide bomber.
The video appears to show a static image of surviving Japanese hostage Kenji Goto, dressed in orange, holding a photo of what appears to be beheaded compatriot Haruna Yukawa.

The voice then relays ISIS' new demand -- the release of Sajida Rishawi, a woman that he says is being held by Jordanian authorities. "They no longer want money, so you don't need to worry about funding terrorists," the voice says in English. "They just demand the release of their imprisoned sister Sajida Rishawi. "It is simple. You give them Sajida, and I will be released. ... Again, I would like to stress how easy it is to save my life. You bring them their sister from the Jordanian regime, and I will be released immediately -- me for her."
http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/24/world/isis-japan-hostages/
There is literally no point in pissing off Japan. They can't even retaliate unless ISIS manages to reach their soil.
Does Japan even have the logistical capability of doing serious damage to ISIS?
Does Japan even have the logistical capability of doing serious damage to ISIS?
They can stop manufacturing toyota trucks.
They can stop manufacturing toyota trucks.
That could probably destroy every insurgency ever.
so what happens when they have decapitated everyone? do they start decapitating each other? How's it going to work when there's just one islamic state in whatever dude left? is he going to have to cut his own head off or something?
They can stop manufacturing toyota trucks.
It's funny that Isis seems to love Toyota trucks when they suck.
hiluxes are pretty damn good though theres some forestry company in finland that has 40+ hiluxes, if they sucked im quite sure they'd be using something else
It's funny that Isis seems to love Toyota trucks when they suck.
But they don't A hilux with a zu23 on it is the daily driver for well-to-do insurgents everywhere
Its always sad hearing about these kind of stories because you know that the government of said hostages won't comply with the terrorist's outrageous demands and the hostages will either be killed or in some stroke of luck rescued, however the latter rarely seems to happen Rest in Peace Kenji and Haruna, you won't be forgotten
Why would they honestly target Japan now, it's almost like attacking Sweden in the sense that neither is particularly oriented into being a belligerent under any circumstances. I'm not calling Japan neutral but, they don't really ever step on anyone's toes. As far as I know.

I seriously doubt these two were captured on purpose, most likely they just fell into the wrong hands at the wrong time and just happen to not be Muslim Arabs.
These freaking ISIS.. They're everything that a Muslim shouldn't be. Why did they even bother to carry 'Islam' in their name? I mean, I'll have a hard time introducing myself using my real name after doing dumb shits. I guess they're what we called in Islam as the 'misguided'.
You know how you stop terrorist like isis from ever happening again you teach them and every generation of their kids a lesson they will never forget goto their country and NUKE them into utter extinction until no life remains there. that will send a strong a clear message that says fuck with me and you and anyone else you know will die
I hope they now know Japan reserves the right to start military operations against them.
I doubt they'll do anything. Japan isn't militaristic
A lot of you are gonna love this. But various twitter reports and regional news reports are stating that the YPG/YPJ,FSA, and Pesh forces have liberated Koabni from ISIS.
Whelp. That's a bummer
this is like the most nonchalant response to this possible yeah dude its a real bummer NO USE CRYING OVER SPILLED MILK I GUESS
this is like the most nonchalant response to this possible yeah dude its a real bummer NO USE CRYING OVER SPILLED MILK I GUESS
You can't get super upset over every piece of bad news or you'd live a miserable life, just appreciate that he didn't make some stupid joke for the epic zingerz!!!!!1!!
Does Japan even have the logistical capability of doing serious damage to ISIS?
Seeing as how the US is their ally and are god tier at logistics, yes.
Seeing as how the US is their ally and are god tier at logistics, yes.
The US is already attacking ISIS and that really doesn't count. I'm talking about Japan on their own.
Seeing as how the US is their ally and are god tier at logistics, yes.
God tier at logistics? What does that even mean?
God tier at logistics? What does that even mean?
Everything, having weapons, ammo, bombs, medical supplies, food, etc in mass quantities and available at a moments notice anywhere in the world.
Everything, having weapons, ammo, bombs, medical supplies, food, etc in mass quantities and available at a moments notice anywhere in the world.
That's a huge overstatement I feel.
